HTC Dash / S620 / S621 (Excalibur)
Has anyone purchased anykind of mobile tv for the dash
I am thinking of ordering handitv or someother kind of mobile tv for my dash but I thought I would ask you all if you think its will work well or if it is even worth the $20.

Just got handiTV today. Its just OK; there are channels that my DASH will not show vid, only audio. The channels that do come in work ok. I watched my local ABC+ channel on regular Tv and the DASh and its appx 5 seconds behind. Choppy as well; not always streaming. It needs work. If you DONT NEED it now, I would wait and save the 20 bucks.

ya get Sling Media, its a one time payment of $160 or somethin like that for the Slingbox AV, its a box that hooks up to your receiver, it can be a cable box or a satellite receiver as well, and u also connect an ethernet to the box from your router/modem, it then allows you to watch your tv after downloading the slingmedia player to your phone you can watch it on there whenever, and they have it for your laptop too, go to www.slingmedia.com a fix for the dash is on the way, the media player for sling is made for phones of generations before the dash and blackjack, but a fix should be in store in the next couple weeks (resolution is off)

I am interested in knowing how you'd get the local Channels (ABC/CBS etc.) live? I get CNN and even that is pre-recorded, if you play it 3 times, it tells you the same story. That's not live, is it?

LOL.. thats a good one. Heres a better one: When I go to the Sports Network News channel, I get the same report about GAME 2 of the World Series!!! LOLOL.....I dunno whats up w/ these channels, but so far Ive NOT been impressed with HandiTV. Too often I cant even see a pic, only audio. Sometimes when I do get video, its not streaming, its choppy. The local channel I do get from WABC is the alternate weather/news ticker, which I get on Time Warner channel 729. Its not the REAL Eyewitness news..........

thats because its not live...mobile tv by handitv and tmobile tv is not live its like vcast, just downloads, you need to look into slingmedia at www.slingmedia.com i bought me the slingbox AV that allows you to watch satellite tv or any TV that uses a receiver with the TV (cable box, satellite box etc), you connect the slingbox AV to your receiver than to your router then download slingplayer mobile onto your phone and hoorayyy you have tv live on your phone up to the second almost.
