Anyway to autolock the keypad/wheel after X time of no use?
I'm the type that the phone is constantly in and out of my pocket, thus having the scroll wheel or buttons accepting commands is a bad thing.
On previous phones I've owned I was always able to set them to lock everything after 10 seconds or so, or they had a button I could push to lock it. With this 8703e there doesn't appear to be something that easy to do?
I know I can scroll through the menu and hit the lock button, but for constant use, in and out of my pocket all the time etc it's a real pain in the butt to have to scroll to hit that every time; plus I'm using a "today screen" type add on with it so I have to exit that, scroll to the lock and click. Read the manual. You setup a password in the Options->Security Options. Then you can set the lock function (timed or in.out of holster).

Thanks for the response... I guess I figured out the manual part but didn't specify. I would just like to have it lock without a password, but so far I haven't had too much issue with it typing accidentally. Appreciate it!

Don't know if this helps, but I set my Side Convenience Key to "Keyboard Lock". I keep my phone in my pocket, so the holster option wasn't an option. Now, when I am done with the phone, I just press the side button and it locks the keyboard. You can also use the shortcut keys provided the option to "Dial from home screen" is turned off. The shortcut key for keyboard lock is "K".
k is for keyboard lock
t is for tasks
l is for calendar
d is for note pad
f is for profile
o is for options
etc....
You may know all this, but once you learn them all, you only need a few icons on the homescreen.
