Removing the "ABC" from the home page

I thought that I had seen something in the forum about removing the pesky "ABC" icon from the home screen. It's on the top right hand corner and blocks the signal indicator and other things in different applications. It's useful when you're typing or texting but when you aren't doing that I don't have a need for it to be there. If there is any help out there, please send it my way. If it's already posted then direct me to that post.

Thanks guys.

im sure you know thats the Icon that lets you know that multitap is on. i dont like it either, i changed my themes, i had a few themes that moved everything around so the ABC didnt cover anything up. the only thing i can think of that would help is to change back to suretype everytime you close a message or something like that. if you have the older OS just hold the * button for a few seconds and that toggles it on and off. hope i helped.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try this and see what happens. I've also tried other themes but found none that I liked that much. But once again, thanks for the help.

I get it sometimes, just go to messages, start a new one, and hit menu, choose to enable sure type. It's tedious, but it works everytime for me.

Go to create an email or text message and enable multitap and hit the 2nd function button (the up down arrow button to the left of the symbol key). Then return to the main screen.
