Samsung SYNC SGH-A707
To those of you who have the A707 reception issues
I would like to try this with a few people to see if this works. I come across a lot of phones from warranty that have reception issues, and the Samsung Sync takes the cake by far.. So I would like to know if I could get a few volunteers to try this out on their phones to see if we can get better service using permanent 2G service instead of 3G.
If you are interested try these few steps out and please post the results back here.
This is how you can change from 3G to 2G:
Press 277634#*#
Then go through the menu:
5. Modem Setting
2. Network Mode
1. Network Mode
2. 2G only
Then, after you have done that, if you are having problems with the earpiece volume also, hit your back button and go to:
7. GSM Speech Ver
Select ...

This works on the LG's, but not the SYNC. I tried. Thanks for taking the time to post this though. I love the AT&T SYNC! Just got mine today. The only thing I wish I could do is put it in 2G mode all of the time to save some battery and have more talk time. If anyone can figure out how to do this, PLEASE let me know! There has to be a way to do this, like on the LG's.

Thanks for the information. I thought I had a customer do it to their Sync once but it is also quite possible that it was just a CU500. I go through hundreds of customers a week.
I know the Sync has potential, unfortunately 3G is still in it's infancy stage and everyone is having receptions issues. If we could just get the manufacturer to admit there is a problem and reveal the service menus, it would be good.
