MP3 player, ringtones, and playlists

I'm a new owner of the sync and so far it seems to meet my needs pretty well. I just got my headphone adapter (OEM with microphone) and a 2 GB card so I'm looking forward to using this as my music player when I'm cycling and running.
I copied some music on to the card (in the Music folder) and the application I used, Media Monkey also put playlists for each album into the Playlists folder.

No, you've just figgered out the limitations of the player software. It sucks, but thats exactly how it works. I started renaming my song titles with the initials of the band or artist and that helped me keep songs in the order they appeared on the CD. Thanks for the reply. So you can't import external playlists at all? You have to make them all on the phone? That does suck, especially since it seems to order tracks alphabetically. At least I'm primarily a shuffle user, so it won;t be that much of a bother.
I came up with a reasonable workaround for shuffling all the music on it. I just converted my mp3 ringtones to .mmf (using a free online converter - Google for it) so that keeps them out of the mix. Worked well for my run last night. Nice to have one less thing to carry but still get my tunes.
