Just got this phone today. Opera mini won't work on it and neither will the Gmail java app. VERY disappointed in that...if someone knows how to get these programs to work I would appreciate it. If not, the phone is going back.

I been using mini opera since it was first available to the public, so I am not new to this. I have both java apps on the phone, but neither will work. I guess Cingular screwed up another phone.

You may need to post the java app on a site, and then surf to the site. I've put numerous game files on the phone and it won't run them. However, if I upload them to my site and type in the url on the phone, it will load and install them. Kinda retarded if you ask me.

I'm sure you know to go to opera.mini.com from the media net and install the app...I picked the high memory version and have had no problems at all. I'm not familiar with the gmail app though...

Thats exactly what I did. It didnt recognize the phone but I downloaded the high version but it always gives me an error.

I'm using the high memory version of Opera Mini and I've had no trouble using it. I used the internal browser to download it to the phone, opened it and it worked right then.

I got the low memory version to work and I think I like it better. Gmail app is definite no go but no biggy. I got google maps and mig33 to work, so all is not lost. I do think however this phone doesnt have great signal reception. Its ok, but not what I've had in the past on other phones.

hey, i also downloaded the opera mini high memory version right from the phone's browser. it worked perfectly. Maybe you need to clear the cache and try again? or exchange the phone and try again. Opera is okay but this phone actually does have a good browser, so im not sure if theres a strong need for the opera one. I only use it when the phone displays "page too large to load" message. Otherwise I use the original one and im pretty happy with it.
