Is this on option?
I'm wondering if that has something to do with the phone "switching" between network modes. I know 3G challenge the battery life. This is why I was asking earlier if there was a way to disable that switching process.
Here's my thoughts. I would like a longer life battery, but 3G capability when I want to use it. I equate the 3G default as a waste unless I truly need it. I'm hoping the phone has an option to disable 3G until you need it. Then, you could enable it, use it, and then disable it again.
I've researched 3G phones and most of them in general have battery issues related to the use of 3G.

Here's my thoughts (and I don't even own the phone yet!).
1) Turn off active idle. It's off by default, but if it is on somehow, I'll turn it off.
2) You can set the network configuration from automatic to manual and choose "network" mode instead of "dual" mode. The only problem there is if you lose the chosen network's signal, you will get an error prompt. I don't know how much this would happen if you are voice calling. If the manual setting doesn't affect my phone calls, I'll enable 3G only when I need it. I'll be using this unit more as a phone than anything else. The data portion WILL be cool though, but not essential.
