Warranty

Just a suggestion, with AT&T you only have a 30 day warranty with this phone. During those thirty days you can send the phone back 3 times if you are having problems. If you register your phone on www.nokiausa.com, than you have a full year warranty, but you have to have proof of purchase. I think they would know how to service their phones better than a Cingular / AT&T rep that tell you to just turn you phone off and back on.

you have a one year warranty without registering at Nokia-just save your sales receipt. Cingular provides the same one year manufacturers warranty-I sent my old 6682 back and received a new one a week before my year was up...

As far as I know, Cingular handles 1 year warrenty on all phones, this doesn't mean they are going to hand you a new one. But they will send it in for repair. This is fairly common practice with all carriers.

To my Knowledge, but not 100 % sure, after your 30 days are up, and have problem with phone, they send you a refub phone (used phone that has been repaired).

The moral of the story is send it back to Nokia rather than sending it back to cingular to get the refurb after 30 days.

With Cingular you get a refurb first, then return your phone with prepaid stickers.

With Nokia, you mail in your phone and are without a phone for at least, 3-4 weeks, then you get a refurb phone, which would you choose?

3-4 weeks? Where did that estimation come from? The website 7-10 days if they can't fix the problem with the phone, Cingular won't fix the problem they would just send out a refurbed phone that may have the same problems. So yeah, I would choose the manufacturer that would know how to fix it.
