Samsung SCH-i760

just got this phone today... i like the phone.. but is anyone else having problems with the ringtone volume being too low? i am currently using the ringtones that came with the phone and the volume is just too low.... i set the ring type to ring and vibrate and i can barely hear the ringtone? did i just get a bad phone????

I need your help! I currently have the Samsung i730 and I've looked at the i760 and the iPhone and I really don't know which to choose. I am a pastor and I use the i730 for calendar, text messaging, and e-mail. My secretary can input appt.'s in Wireless Sync and they download to my phone. I understand that this is also possible with iPhone. Please help me decide. 😕

I just realized I can send & receive text messages while on the internet. WITHOUT getting kicked off the net. First phone I've had that allowed that. Jo

Any thoughts on which one is better? I've got the 5800, but I am not crazy about it. I find it hard to use (but it could be b/c I am a newbie to smartphones). I like the i760 touchscreen, but heard some bad things about the i760. I can only exchange phones one more time and will be stuck with what I pick, so any advice is appreciated!

I want a smartphone mainly to push email, Internet access, use as a calendar, and open Word docs.

Also, is WiFi that big of a plus in the i760?

Can anyone tell me if this is normal or do I have a bad battery. The battery indicates normal use during the day until I log onto the internet through Verizon and then the battery level drops like a rock and I get the low battery messages. This does not seem right to me.

I don't subscribe to the data plan, so I exclusively use WiFi for internet, etc. Is there any way to disable the broadband access so I don't have the phone calling for EVDO even when there is wifi available?

Folks, I'm not the most technical person in the world and need help viewing YouTube videos on this phone. Can anyone point me in the right direction? The folks at Verizon couldn't/didn't help...they suggested this thread.

ok so i just got my i760 coming from a xv6700 and i could not live without t9. searching around i found the htc t9 touchpad cab files! may not be the front dial pad version that most wanted but using it from a protected touch screen is not bad! i had my 6700 for 2 years without problem! here you go! download this cab and put it in your docs folder. install and you'll get a phone pad option in your on screen menu!

I was a bit on the fence about this phone. It's just something about it. It does have everything you can imagine, but why haven't I rushed to buy it? I dunno, but some of those addons look real cool. Can someone provide some info/input as to the addon software that make the i760 look and act a bit like the iPhone? That is a very attractive thought and is one reason I'd get the phone since it makes it one step closer to perfection.

well i'm not sure what happend with my i-760, but all of a sudden a weird black shade/spot thing has popped up, on the screen. does anyone know how to get rid of this, or what i should do? Also when using the wi-fi it atomatically turns off, when im in the middle of downloading an apllication, and when visiting some websites, im not able to click on picture links nor some text links, that are colored blue (when i know for a fact that it is a link).

Can anyone help me out and suggest what i should do with my phone to repair the glitches, should i take it to the verizon tech place?.........

Hi I just read there is windows 6.1. What is the differnce between 6.0 and 6.1?

Anyone know anything about a Nintendo emulator on Windows Mobile 6? It may help me decide what phone I buy.

When I sync up wirelessly to my microsoft exchange server, the phone automatically dials #777 (when Wifi not available) and does the sync thing. I then have to manually disconnect the broadband connection. I cannot find where I can tell it to disconnect upon completion of the sync.

Can anyone help me out?

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF YOU CAN SET THE BROWSER TO BE PASSWORD PROTECTED?

Over the past day or so I keep having a message pop up that says "a storage card has been inserted do you want to open pictures or music files?" Or something like that.

It justs pops up - out of the blue. I've had a storage card in there since day one and have never used the Windows Media Player since I got the phone - end of November.

Any ideas?

Has anyone been successful in getting an mp3 to be used as a ringtone with this phone? Verizon claims they do not support this. I even tried with a 3rd party app (ringo) and no luck.

I have a i760 and somehow have managed to put my regular and visiting digital clocks onto my main screen. Does anyone know how to get back to just one clock on the main screen?

Is that a hardware or software issue? If there is a setting or something in WM6, I'd appreciate someone pointing it out to me. Thanks!

I just got the i760 and charged it. However, I noticed when it was at 100% I took off the plug, but about 10 min later it is at 95% already. It has been there for a while. Should that happen or do I have a bad phone?

Has anyone had a problem with their message button on the top left corner of the keyboard? When I press mine I get a message "Error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename" I am assuming that there is a shortcut somewhere that I need to put somewhere else... but I am baffled.
