REAL Battery Life Pole
Apple states that the battery life of the iPhone is about...
8 hours of talk time or
6 hours internet or
7 hours video or
24 hours audio
Not mine. I use the web about 30 min, send and recieve about 20 total texts a day, 20 min of video, and talk for about 2 or 3 hours a day and my battery is spent.
Is this normal?
What is your expierence like?
...
My experience has been totally the opposite. I text quite often and surf the web as well. I talk on it for like an hour or 2 and then listen to music as I commute and I have never had the battery drain on me entirely. I can go without charging it for almost a day and a half and still have some battery left over.

wifi kills the battery life too.
...
I think the internet over Edge kills the battery just as much.
As for the life of the battery, mine is pretty much what Apple says, I can go about 2-2.5 days with a charge sometimes.

Also, take into account the screen brightness. I have mine set down to almost the lowest setting. And if you have your E-mail settings set for check "hourly," this will drain the battery as well. I keep my email on the "manual" setting. My battery lasts, (if its charged in the morning) with lots of texting, surfing the web, making and receiving phone calls, playing around and everyone wanting to play with it, the whole day...into the next day and will have to be charged that night. The usage usually says 2 days stand-by, 6-hours usage. Hope this helps some of you.

What's a battery "pole"? I s that like the North pole or the South Pole or a stripper pole?
...
it is where batteries strip for other batteries. I can't imagine he wanted a "poll."
