Motorola W385

My external display is not working. Any suggestions?

For a lot of reasons, I prefer NOT to use the Bluetooth method for my handsfree way of using my phone. Is it possible to buy a headset with mic which connects by wire through the mini-USB port?

how do I transfer my pics from my phone to the computer?

Subject says it all, does the outside display display the incoming call info or is it just symbols like other Motos?

I've got a no-name generic car charger that says it has an output between 200-500mA.

The AC adapter that came with the W385 says it has an output of 550mA.

Is it ok to use the generic car charger? Will the lower output damage the phone or will it just take longer to charge?

Ok guys finally the MP3 Ringtones... 😁
Just Pair the W385 with one Mac or PC via Bluetooth and then Browse the Phone in the Computer. I'm tested on Mac, use the Bluetooth File Exchange located in Utilities Folder and Hit,

1- File/Browse Device.

2- Select your Phone and Clic Browse.

3- You will see a New Window with some Folders, remember Accept the Incoming Connection on the Phone.

4- Open the Audio Folder and just Drag & Drop your MP3 Ringtone, CHEERS...you can also copy all you Stuff located in the Phone like, Photos, Videos, etc...to the Computer just selecting them and pressing Get.

NOTE: Your MP3 Ringtones will be placed in the Default Ringtone Phone Folder, find it and Assign it as Ringtone. 😁

Almost up on my 30 day trial on the W385. Due to surgery on right arm, driving is difficult with the speaker phone not loud enough to counter the inside car noise. Nope, new car not affordable to resolve issue either. Sometimes even on speaker-phone I hold to ear while driving and can't hear enough to continue conversation. The strangest thing - it seems at times in same car(*7 the loudest it will go) I can hold and hear and not need speaker-phone... not sure if that is a issue like how sometimes you get dropped calls/cell will not work in certain area - but it does not seem to be area specific when it does that. My mom has same phone-same issue - works/don't work. Don't like I can't get the font size larger very annoyed but I can live wi...

Im going to be renewing my contract with Verizon soon and want to get a small good phone. The W385 and Krazr looked pretty good but not sure which ones better. Any thoughts or opinions would greatly help.

I downloaded a ringtone from Telus' website, I know it's in my phone "somewhere" (as I confirmed the purchase on my phone) but have no idea how to actually find it to set it as my ringtone...any words of wisdom?

Telus tells me to check my user manual...which I have...tha sad little sheet that came with it, plus spent a while going over the more indepth (?) one online and nowhere can I find this info...thanks so much!

I gave up an awesome little LG phone for this one....and I'm really trying to love it...but so far...it's been a challenge 🙂

Just got this phone. I like it so far, but think there's a bug in the iTap programming. If i'm in iTap mode, and composing a text message, if I'm in the middle of a sentence, I can't capitalize the first character of a word without switching to AllCaps for the first character, then back to lowercase for the rest of the word.

The three capitalization modes are
1) iTAPEn
2) iTAPen
3) iTAPEN

If I'm in the middle of the sentence, it seems like #1 really behaves like #2.

Maybe mode #1 just means "capitalize the first word of every sentence", and not "capitalize the first letter of the current word." If so, then I guess it is not a bug. But in that case, I still find it irritating that typing a proper noun is so tedious.

I have already tried the exterior screen selection and there is not an option. I have called Telus and they said that they do not have that information in their books and if I had patience to peruse the internet, which I have to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated!

Hi I'm trying to send a email to an email address and then the phone tells me "message type has changed to multimedia message because of email address" then it trys to convert or something but doesnt work can i change a setting tat it wil just send. Thanks for an help.

I'm a savvy mobile user and decided to grab the w385 to use until a high end Verizon phone comes out that I like (just noticed their holiday releases, whoops). Anyway, when I write a text message I can't get iTAP to be the default entry mode. I always have to switch from ABC to iTAP first. I use iTAP in 99/100 texts, so making this change every time is mind-numbing. Am I missing an option in this phone's simple menus or does it lack that capability?

I would greatly appreciate a fellow w385 owner's outlook. Thank you.

I need to know how to "enable the cookies"

I cannot get MPT to recognize mt W385. my software is updated and it still will not recognize my phone. Can someone help?

people say to turn the phone off then on again then it asks you if you want to change the display time but i did it and it didn't work! i know there is a way so please HELP ME!

How do I disable the alert beep for a missed call? The "alert sounds" menu only addresses TXT message, picture message and voicemail. Doesn't seem to be any way to turn off the alert for missed call.

on the back, theres a rubber thing you can lift up, i did. what is it?. and no dont say battery haha.
