HI-Can anyone tell me how to choose to answer this phone by pressing a key rather than flipping it open? Is that an option?

Menu -> settings & tools -> call settings -> answer options

If you meant answering the call without opening the flip (on the speakerphone), I don't think thats possible on this phone.
