Weird GSM/2G glitching voice quality

Help!

I am a recently converted AT&T customer (having had Verizon for years). I love my Q9 ... but ... I think I have found some kind of glitch with it. I would like to know if this "glitch" is truly a glitch or if it is just to be expected on a GSM (non-3G) network. By the way, I am on my 2nd Q9 and both seemed to have this issue.

When I am on a call and 3G is engaged, life is good ... and call quality is excellent. However, I have noticed on practically every GSM/EDGE/non-3G call that there is a brief dropout every minute or so. It only lasts about 1/4 of a second, but it is noticeable and it does mute out the person you are on the phone with if they are speaking at the time. It almost sounds like the call is being handed off from ...

I have the same problem too. I thought my phone is a defective one and was thinking of exchanging with a new one. But since you also have the problem, I guess the new phones might have it too.

I'm pretty sure the data network (3G, EDGE, or GPRS) you're in shouldnt have anything to do with voice quality or dropped calls. That's just simply for internet speed. The bars are what measures voice quality.
