I too like the curve. Got the 8703e now and have no real need for the 8830.
The curve is the GSM only phone with 2-megapixel camera, whereas, the 8830 is the GSM/CDMA hybrid version of At&t's 8800.
The Curve probably won't be available for Verizon for a while. RIM usually gives the GSM carriers first shot then CDMA & vice versa with the Treos.
Trust me....except for the camera, and about 5mm......the Curve IS the 8830. SAME thickness, SAMES width, 5mm shorter. Nothing to write home about.
Having said that, I doubt VZW will be in a hurry to pick up the Curve (or push for a CDMA version) since it competes directly with the 8830 (except for price point....but I never compare price points because, well....I j...
