8320 Wifi Calling
How exactly does calling over wifi work? Can you use your home network, and if so, how does that effect your monthly minutes? And if it is wifi capable, is it still necessary to get a data plan? If anyone can answer some of those questions that would be great as I am seriously considering getting this phone. Thanks.

you can call over wifi anywhere you can access it; including your home wifi and any unsecured wifi spot. Normally it takes up your normal minutes unless you sign up for thier promotion 10/ month add on. that gets you unlimited mins on wifi. data plan is not required.
PS. that is only the tmobile curve and NOT att's

Wrong "wHiTeSol" it does not take up your minutes if you do not have the add on...you can still use a uma phone to make calls over the internet if you want nearly perfect reception at your home or other hot spot location

According to a T-mobile rep that I called, she explained that the Curve is not Wifi capable through T-mobile hot spots and only works through your home network. I've been getting conflicting information everywhere about the wifi calling capabilities. Anyone know for sure the deal with this whole thing?

what do you mean by wifi capable, you can sign on to anyones network to make a phone call and have good signal as long as you know the passcode to use there connection without ever taken away from your minutes, all of this is going through the uma antenna that is built into it...the rep probably meant that through t-mobile hot spots you have to have that added on to your accountbeing that we have specail partnerships with starbucks, borders, etc.
