so if verizon is geting this phone and installing their own UI, does that mean we wont be able to check our text messages with out opening the phone?(on the extrenal screen) 🙄

Impossible to know at this point. Verizon has had phones in the past that have been able to check text messaging on the front using their UI. I don't see why Verizon would block that feature for any reason as it doesn't cost them any money by leaving it active.

the Verizon LG VH 8600 (which I have) can read txt msgs on the OUTSIDE... while the LG VH8100 newer one, can not.

First of all, they are VX XXXX not VH. Secondly, the VX8600 is newer than the VX8100, not the other way around.
Thirdly, why does it matter if you can read the messages on the outside? You're more than likely going to respond to the message sent, at which point you will have to open the phone, which ultimately makes the fact that you can read it on the outside moot.

being able to read the message on the outside is very important. because when in class, i don't always get the opportunity to open the phone and read the text message ( without getting caught), and I'm always able to sneak a view at the time on my v710 external screen, with out getting caught. being able to read a text message on the external screen is a big advantage!!!! 😁

i totally agree with him because bein able to read txt on the outside screen is one of the most important things. When in class, teachers know when you have something in your hand (expecially cellphones) so if you can read the message on the outside, you dont have to open it and you can respond later. Im jus worried about the touchscreen. are we goin to be able to lock it?

actually, i do believe that you will be able to respond to texts using the outside screen. and i agree, being able to view the text on the outside screen is a nice new convinience. i dont readily respond to everyone all the time.

yeah i understand you! PAL! 😁 I mean opening a phone takes a lot of time and energy. LoL. I just want to read it from the outside and answer it later or answer it from the outside of the phone. I mean I use to have the Motorola V235 frm Cingular. I think that phone was one of the best with its features. It had vid/cam mp3 ringtones (which i recorded or bought) and everything. I want the razr2 to be like that with its quality. but way BETTER with features
