Motorola RAZR2 V9m
RAZR2 Impressions
The one thing I noticed that the Phonescoop review stated was the spring that when you closed it shocked the phone and made it reverberate. This in fact was not the case as it closed with a silky smooth feeling. The size was a little suprising, because the phone was actually bigger than what I expected. It kinda reminded me of a really...

Were you able to try out any of the features on the Razr2? I am really curious to know if you can read/reply to text on the outside screen, if the email, teleconferencing, and the pc sync work like in the Moto website demo. I am thinking that Verizon will cripple these features though.
The Rokr is the first slider that's piqued my interest. I was considering the new chocolate as a slider, but its just an update on the old one that's already been out for over a year. With the Rokr do you think you would be able to do most functions with the slide closed, like reply to text? I have not had a slider so I am not sure how many features can be used in closed position.
Do you think ...

Personally I like the small sliding functionality of the ROKR mixed with the same sleek look of the RAZR2, so if your are interested in the ROKR I'd probally go with that one. I'm planning on getting them both by the time the year is out. Proball...

I am assuming that one of the major differences between the Rokr and Razr 2 is the Rokr will have the TV service? I do not think I'd subscribe to that service anyway. A couple of things that detract me from the sliders are that a) you have to move your fingers up and out to hit the direction key; b) only one screen, and can get scratched easily.
But yeah I believe that is one of the major differences but the version I had did not have access to it. But yeah that service can be rather expensive anyway. As for those reasons I think that you will be suprised because the ROKR is so sturdy and its slides smoothly but its very sturdy, you don't have to push out, because it clicks into place. It feels more sturdy with it slid open than the RAZR2 feels open. And that's saying alot. The screen is very thick and sturdy and the RAZR2's front screen is just as vulnerable to scratch. Oh well. They are both going to help boost moto sales these last two quarters and for this I'm happy.
True, both the slider or clamshell are as vulnerable with scratches. But with a clamshell at least the internal screen doesn't have as much chance to get scratched. And I have always been so used to having 2 screens, it's nice to have 2 different wallpapers. I suppose either way I plan to keep my phone in a case when not in use, and I will try to be very careful with it.
I just can't wait till this thing comes out. Funny that my contr...

As for the T-mobile question, they have pretty good customer service. But their service obviously is not as broad as verizon's, nor do they have the best 3G network in the country. I've always been a fan of their advertising, they kinda have filled the "cool-hip cell phone company" void that Cingular left when it changed its name back to AT & T, but one thing you have to think about is that you are switching from CDMA to GSM, and I've always prefered the voice clarity on CDMA.Of...

I have heard Tmobile will be getting the 3G service later this year. Not sure if I would get any benefit out of that though. I only use the web from time to time, and don't really check my email. It definitely annoys me how Verizon will cripple the features on their phones though. Not that I would use all the features, but it's nice to have if you want them.
I guess I will wait it out. Not sure if I can commit to a 2 yr plan with another carrier because I'm so used to Verizon. Maybe I will try a Tmobile line for a month and see if I like it.
Thanks!
