Motorola RAZR2 V9m

Ok i'm a total new-b, but i have a fair understanding of the difference between java and brew, now my question is, since i'm interested in getting this phone with sprint, should i expect brew? i thought i read that brew was a cdma thing, and java was gsm.. i may be totally off, hence the reason i'm asking in the forum...thanks!

Hello Forum. Last night I went into an Authorized Verizon retailer and asked them about the release date on the V9M. The owner of the store said, I will have these in stock for sale on Tuesday, August 14. I asked him twice to make sure we were talking about the same phone. Hope this helps. He is holding one for me at the store and I am picking it up.

Price, he was not sure of.

Any idea how much of the cool stuff Verizon will take away from its customers?

Also, anyone heard of an official release date or price? I've heard/read on here end of August. (Sometime around the 20th to compete with Sprint maybe?)

I can tell you now definitely that Sprint will be getting the V9m and the UI from VZW to Sprint will be totally different.

because i upgraded to the lg vx8700 and i think i wanna exchange it for the RAZR2 within 30 days. August 23rd is my 30th day. Or can i just return my 8700 now and then wait for the RAZR2 and upgrade then??

Hey Guys i wanted to let you know i saw the V9m on a Verizon commercial. They Didnt name it but it was CLEARLLY seen.

So its gotta come out soon!

I don't understand why Verizon keeps there launch dates sealed so tightly. Maybe they should do what Apple did with the iPhone and advertise the V9M? I have been with Verizon for years now, and I have to say that there advertisements are poor. The V9M looks like such a beautiful phone, PROMOTE IT! Make people anticipate it.

I am one of those people patiently awaiting the V9M. Currently I have the V3M, and I have not had any problems with it.

Telesales says they expect 8/1/07 release. Should I believe them?

I was very excited about this phone at first when I heard about the 500mhz processor which now is GONE.

I was excited when i heard about the Linux UI or the Updated Synergy UI which is now GONE!

Yes it looks nice, and had nice screens.....but what else? Nothing Verizon phones are basically all the same.

Me personally im gonna wait a while after it comes out. The only way id drop my U740 is if this Razr2 is hacked with a new firmware to activate Free wap and Java

OK. After pouring over all of these forums for a release date for the Sprint version, I went to the Sprint website, logged in, and emailed customer care about the new RAZR2. I said I was very interested in upgrading my phone soon, or I was considering switching to AT&T. I just got the following response:

Anyone notice the sudden change on release dat ...first it stated July now it says 3rd quater.

It seems to me that the cdma version of this phone offers nothing revolutionary, especially when comparted to the GSM v8. Not to be antagonistic, but is anyone still thinking about purchasing this phone? Keep in mind that us, "gadget-o-philes" are the intended audience, not the everyday user and that we require a little more from our devices.

so if verizon is geting this phone and installing their own UI, does that mean we wont be able to check our text messages with out opening the phone?(on the extrenal screen) 🙄
