Wild Card: The Good and Bad
The good: I love the Wild Card's built-in keyboard. It's larger and easier to use than the Switch_Back's. I also love the camera. I think it takes higher quality shots than the Switch_Back. The redesigned external display is much easier on the eyes than the Switch_Back's. I also love how the number buttons on the external keypad now line up properly. The firmware also seems to be improved. I have been able to send text messages without the phone restting itself (knock on wood). The alert reminder actually works now. The phone plays all games smoothly.
The bad: The vibrator is anemic and difficult to feel unless you're actually holding the phone. Although I think the internal speaker is somewhat improved over the Switch_Back's, it is still...

Hey OmegaWolf747. I've seen your posts throughout several forums discussing this phone. Seems you went through something of a research crusade over a year ago, much like I am going through today.
I inherited the Wild Card from someone so am catching up on the features AND limitations of this phone. After perusing dozens of forums and sites I've come to the disappointed realization that Virgin Mobile has indeed distributed a gimped version of the otherwise capable Kyocera M1000 by deliberately disabling key features like:
- Data transfer via cable or bluetooth
- Direct download when surfing the ...

VM has a BlackBerry now where nothing is disabled, so that might be worth checking out. I've moved on to Boost Mobile's BlackBerry Curve, which is totally customizable.
I still have a soft spot for my little Wild Card, which I put out to pasture in my drawer.
