Hey OmegaWolf747. I've seen your posts throughout several forums discussing this phone. Seems you went through something of a research crusade over a year ago, much like I am going through today.
I inherited the Wild Card from someone so am catching up on the features AND limitations of this phone. After perusing dozens of forums and sites I've come to the disappointed realization that Virgin Mobile has indeed distributed a gimped version of the otherwise capable Kyocera M1000 by deliberately disabling key features like:
- Data transfer via cable or bluetooth
- Direct download when surfing the ...

VM has a BlackBerry now where nothing is disabled, so that might be worth checking out. I've moved on to Boost Mobile's BlackBerry Curve, which is totally customizable.
I still have a soft spot for my little Wild Card, which I put out to pasture in my drawer.
