LG Venus VX-8800

Does anyone know if there is a way to sync lotus notes (version 6.5) with the Venus? I really only want to sync my calendar.

does anyone else have this problem? sometimes when i send a txt the person receiving the txt will only get a bunch of jar bal, like letter, numbers, and symbols. i don't know what causes it, but once i reset my phone it's better and now it's been happening more frequently.

i'm getting really frustrated with the whole thing, does anybody have the same problem and/or know how to fix it?

The little blue bar at the bottom of the screen that displays if you have a message or voicemail....can you change the color of it?

I was wondering if someone could give me a step by step with their Venus and Bitpim - mainly to get ringtones? I'm having some trouble - I got the program to recognize my Venus, but it's not sending any of its data (i.e. music, wallpapers) to Bitpim.

Has anyone successfully used Bitpim? Please help! Thanks 🙂

I know you can assign a ringtone to a contact.
But let's say I want to assign the same ringtone for the group "family", is there a way to do that or do I have to manually assign the ringtone to each contact in that group?

I really like LG products, but that touch screen ended up being too much to handle. Too gimmicky, slow, etc. I really missed having hardware directional buttons. Got a brand new enV and $100 back for my trouble. I'm also still getting my $50 rebate in the mail. I guess they forgot to check if my Venus box still had the UPC intact! Lucky me. I ended up keeping the Venus for exactly 30 days... 😛

Moley you seem to be the guru so riddle me this please.. How to I keep the media player from closing and starting the track over every time??? Not bad with a song but a 2 gig book it sucks.. Thanks for you help on the SD card issues I had. 😎

i am soooo confused. with the slider down, i unlock the phone by pushing the side music button. i scroll to the number i want to dial, which happens to be my voice mail at home and which has a string of programmed passcosdes, etc. i press call. i then press the "speakerphone" option in the lower left corner. then the speakerphone turns off and i get the message on the bottom of the screen that says "press any side key to unlock". when i push abutton to unlock, i then see a big message that say "NOT AVAILABLE DURING CONVERSATION". then EVERYTHING is screwed up from there. the phone quits hearing the prompts to dial a sting of numbers. it's just crazy that it appears the phone locks up before it can dial my string of numbers, even thou...

I just bought the venus the day after Christmas. I haven't had any problems with it so far and personally I love it. However I use a website to get ringtones sent to my phone for free. When I use the downloaded ringtones the phone does not vibrate when I recieve an incoming call. Anyone have any input???

I just got the Venus. I like it a lot and think its really cool. The other day I plugged in a headphone adapter to the small headphone out jack, but when I listen through headphones I only get sound out of the right ear. Is there any way to listen to stereo music from the phone without using the bluetooth headphones?

does any1 know if u can read the incoming texts on the outside screen of this phone ?My wife and I also looking at the Voyager and the Envy. Does any1 have a prefrence of the 3 phones as well, likes and dislikes? and yes I have been reading and reading in a bunch of forums about these phones and been doing research but forgot if any of them you cant read texts from outside screen. we have the LG 8100 and love them but my screens went white : (

I took a picture with the phone and set it for one of my contacts. When the phone rings the picture ID fills the entire screen (which is really nice) but it is distorted and stretched vertically (because the picture was taken in landscape mode which is the only way with this phone).

Anybody experience this and know of a workaround?

If im correct I'm really upset. 👿 Hopefully you guys might be able to help or have figured a way to do it. So I've had my phone for a few days and loaded some music on my phone via the new music manager. Everything went smooth. So today I tried to set up my music as some ringtones and it looks like I cant do it. Unless I'm being a tard and just not doing it right. Please help.

I noticed you can only have about 10 people per contact group (Work, family, friends etc...) Why is this? It kept telling me the memberlist was full. and its not like i have 500 friends in the phone... i have less than 50 and it still tells me full... i've never seen a phone limit me as to how many friends i can have grouped together

I am just wondering if anyone else's touch screen is slow like mine?? I have the black one and when I push a button it takes about 1-2 seconds to respond when I push the message, contacts, menu and all calls buttons. The only reason I ask is because I was in the verizon store the other day they had a pink one on display and I started playing with it and the touch screen was instant... Is mine messed up or was that one extra special?

I had read on a CNET forum that despite saying it takes an 8 GB micro-SD card, the actual available size is less than half that...one user said his card said that he only had 1.7 GB usable....this is pitiful, 😢 and apparently LG knows about this? Anyone used an 8 GB card and got full usage from the card? Even a 6 GB???

The Venus supports syncing using Verizon's V Cast Music manager to move non-copy protected mp3 files from your computer to your phone. The best way to do this is to get all your playlists configured in Windows Media Player 11, then launch V Cast manager on your pc and tell it to import playlists from WMP. This will add only the songs in your playlists to the V Cast manager database of songs.

Next, you highlight the playlists you want and tell it to copy to the phone (with the phone connected to the computer via the cable, obviously!).

This works (albeit slowly since the phone has only a USB 1.1 connection) but ultimately, you will get all your songs on the phone. One annoying problem, however, is that if you have any given song in more...
