Call breaks and comes back up constantly

I have this HP iPAQ 910 Business Messenger
phone for which I just installed the keyboard lockup fix. It's not locking up the keyboard now. I now have another problem which is the following:
When in a call the call drops and comes back on. In VOIP is something called jitter. Even if I am at places with good GSM reception I have this problem. I didn't had this problem in the past. Is anyone familiar with this problem?
Thanks in advance.

microSD card disappearing

I just got off the line with HP technical support. After some initial denials they admitted there is a known issue with no fix that the microSD card on some units will disappear intermittently and only come back with a reboot. At this time there is no fix to the issue and no time line for when there will be. Until this is resolved I would caution folks from buying this unit. I am at FW 1.03 which is current.

No GPS Software fixes

The following news is quite surprising. Is HP abandoning their iPAQ 600 / 900 customers? The announcement is coincident with their announcing two new models: iPAQ Data Messenger and iPAQ Voice Messenger.

Please post if your iPAQ 910 GPS QK Position program works

As of ROM Update 1.00.03 the GPS Quick Position program (aka GPS Position Accelerator program) does not work. Running the program it always reports the existing ephemeris data is expired. Press the Update button it seems to work. But try to use the GPS for the first time and you will experience start up times that correspond to a GPS Cold Start (e.g. ten minutes or more.)

If you have obtained a fix for this problem will you please report it here.

If your iPAQ 910 does not have this problem will you please report what version ROM and QK Position application you're running.

Thank You

What about the GPS?

I noticed that the phone is listed as "A-GPS" and not
Standalone GPS" like my current iPAQ hw6515. Will my TomTom software work with this, or will I have to get one of those darn BT GPS hockey pucks? The thing I really liked about the iPAQ was the built in GPS.

do i trust hp?

I have no experience with HP smartphone/pda products. as far as features go i can see what it offers as opposed to the comp. but i am curious about hp quality. are they feature heavy phones that operate poorly? or is this phone worth upgrading from my treo 750?

GPS questions and in general questions...

I'm not familiar with GPS on smartphones at all (I have a 700WX but I have a TomTom in the car - no experience mixing the two). Will this phone as purchased from the store be capable of GPS routing or will I need to buy additional software and/or services to get it to do that, if so, expected costs? Also, will the device need any other devices like the external BT GPS devices you see with other GPS phone/computer systems?

As for the phone in general, as I said I have a 700WX now and though it does the job for the most part I look forward to improvements on it, more reliability, useability, storage, speed etc.

I have been reading everything I can find on this 910 and from what I can tell it seems like it's a higher class than mainstrea...

Where Can you SEE & TOUCH this before buying?

So, I'm interested in this phone, but I refuse to spend $500 on a smartphone I can't see, touch, play with BEFORE buying it...

Anyone know a national retail store where I can see this on display?

Thanks!

Any news on release date of the 910?

Waiting anxiously...

I have been a big fan of the HP Ipaqs now for a few years. Presently using the 6955. I find it very slow however. I typically run about 400 tasks. To open the task menu takes upwards of 30 seconds. To close a specific task after changing it takes another 12-15 seconds. Very frustrating. I have to reboot it several times a day. I also use a 1gb card so there isn't a lot of memory use on the main card.

Lots of other little wish lists...I hope the new one performs much better.
