Problems Downloading Ringtones with Messager???
I got the Messager 4 days ago, and I am having problems downloading ring tones on the phone from the phone's browser. When I had the SLVR, I just went to Myxer or Funformobile.com and downloaded, but with the Messager it says that the files are not compatible.
I didnt have problems when I synched the ringtones from the PC to the phone but its time consuming. I'd rather just download from the phone though. Any suggestions???

the samsung messager can not dowload free ringtones from the web browser on the fone. so i guess ur stuck with the long way untill someone finds a site that does allow the fone to download ring tones from the web.

The Messager can support free sites, but funformobile.com does not list the Messager as a supported phone. I do know the site has to setup the ringtones etc. in formats that the phone supports. I know when I signed up for funformobile.com I had to tell the site which phone I was using. If you have the SLVR as your supported model then maybe if you go and change your phone model to another Samsung model it will work. I use another site and did this and it worked.

I've been testing the hell out of this phone and discovered that, regardless to file size, corruption, file type.... It's the folder..... It only holds 100 files.. Including the system file ExInfo.db

most CDMA phones and many others download "weird" the links are for a GCD file which contains tech info on the file. these phones "know" what to do with that file to result in a download.
the messenger just DISPLAYS the contents of the GCD file as text (that is all thats in it) so it clearly does not understand this to be a download link.
The NICE thing is you can put ringers ON the memory card just put them in the My_Ringtones folder this is a RARE feature. it uses mp3 as ringers just fine.
