ringtones
On my LG8300 and noika 6205 I could e mail myself ringtones and save them as caller ID. I can't get this phone to do that. Any ideas?

Here is what I did:
Opened a 23 second MP3 in Windows Media Player, saved the file with .qcp at the end of the name. Some have reported that you can just keep the file as an MP3 but I can't confirm that. The ringtone MUST NOT be larger than 300 kb.
I then e-mailed the ringtone to my10digitnumber@vzwpix.com. It didn't work the first time, so I kept repeating and the third try worked flawlessly.
Verizon appears to be filtering content e-mailed to our devices, and I'm unsure why it takes 2-3 tries, but your ringtone should get there.

I can e-mail it and recieve it. I don't have the option to "save to ringtones" like I did on my previous phones. Looking for a way around that. Thanks

When I email sounds to my phone, then save them, they save to My Ringtones about 1/4 of the time. Those can be set as ID tones. The rest of the time sound files are saved in My Sounds, where there is no option to set the sounds as any kind of ringtone. Annoying. The only file types that seem never to save to My Ringtones are MIDIs. Any tricks?

This was posted recently in the main Motorola thread and I got it to work so far on my Krave. The only problem I had was it resets your default ringtone, so you have to reset it.

I only get the option to "Save Sound," but no option to tell the phone WHERE to save the sound. The phone decides to put it either in My Sounds, where there's no option to set any sound as a ringtone, or in My Ringtones, where they can be used as ringtones. So far only about 1/4 of the tones I've sent to my phone have ended up in My Ringtones. The others are all uselessly sitting in My Sounds.
