comparison with kyocera 7135
Hello all. I have the 7135 and hate it. I was thinking of making a switch tothis samsung sch-i600. Anyone out there who has tried both?? After reading some reviews on this thing, it seems like I may not want to. But to be quite honest, the 7135 is a disaster.
Please help.

Charging - Syncing options
I have not yet purchased this phone, but I am almost ready to. I have a question for anyone that owns (or has owned one). What does the charger look like? The reason I am asking is that I travel constantly and need to be able to charge the phone without lugging along the whole charging/syncing base.
A friend just bought the Motorola Smartphone an it has a USB cable that can be used to sync and/or charge with his laptop while traveling. That would be the ideal situation for me.
So what are my options with the Samsung i600 for syncing and charging? I have been unable to find any accessories anywhere for this phone, including Samsung's own site.
Regards,
Bob

Will this run...
I would like to know if this phone will be able to run financial software such as Microsoft Money? I use my 7135 mainly as my checkbook using Ultrasoft Money and if this phone could run a similar program I would surely grab one. Any info would be appreciated.

Service agreement for e-mail?
Can someone explain to me the data plans from Verizon? I asked the Verizon folks, but they didn't seem to understand them either. I see people are using the phone for e-mail, so I assume some of you have it figured out.
I'd like to be able to send and receive corporate e-mail. It looks like there is an option for remote connection to an on-line computer or a data plan where the phone actually logs on to the mail server. If I'm looking at it, though, it looks like a hefty monthly charge. Help, I don't understand it.

Smartphone 2003?
Anyone know if Smartphone 2003 is out, and if so, is there is currently a way to upgrade the OS on the phone?
i600 Alarms??? A little help please???
I have one question about my new i600 and maybe someone can help. I'm using the slimline battery and the battery meter goes down to 1 bar when there is still about half the juice left in the battery. I can live with that, but the thing that's driving me crazy is the damn alarm that keeps going off every 10 minutes or so telling me the battery is low and needs to be charged. I've been through every setting the phone has to offer and turned off all the sounds and alarms, but still got no luck in preventing the alarm from sounding. Can anyone help here?
Thanks in advance.

No Problems Here!! Great Phone!!
My phone came in the mail about 4 days ago.
The people that are bashing this phone are quite wrong!! Very happy and satisfied!
MP-3's are great. Speakerphone is good. Reception is excellent! Caller ID and contact info works great. I would recomend this phone to anyone.
Connection to laptop for internet?
Does anyone know if these Smartphone devices like the i600 or i700 can connect to a laptop via a USB cable or a Bluetooth card and provide interent browsing from the laptop using the phones express network? I can currently use my Motorola v60 with a usb cable to act as a modem and dial out to the internet, but its slow and I have to dial an ISP.
I was hoping with a phone like this from Verizon or another carrier that I would be able to use it as a modem for a laptop using their own ISP.
Bluetooth would be even nice (no stricg attached!)

Text Entry Format?
Does anyone know what the format for text entry is on the I600? The I500 has Graffiti, but the I600 doesn't. I don't think the I600 uses a touchscreen, so there wouldn't be a screen keyboard available unless I'm wrong about that. That leaves the phone number pad, and hitting the keys multiple times for each letter. Does anyone know if that's the case? If so, any thoughts on how big of a pain that is? It would seem like that might be OK if you use it as a phone and to view your calendar, contacts, etc., but not very good if you actually want to enter information or, God forbid, type an e-mail.

Already available online for existing customers
You can order this phone this weekend if you're already a Verizon Wireless customer. You need to log in to your account and go to "Upgrade Phone". The i600 is on that list.
They list that included accessories are:
Standard Lithium-Ion Battery (900 mAh)
Extended Lithium-Ion Battery (1700 mAh)
Hands-Free Stereo Headset
Leather Case
Sync Cradle/Charger
User Guide
Hand Strap
The prices that they quoted me are $649 with no contract, $549 with 1 yr contract, $499 with 2 yr contract. If you've had service with them for two years and qualify for the "New Every Two" plan, you get an additional $100 off the 2 yr contract making it $399.
There is a bug with the upgrade system right now and at the final confirmation it neglects to subt...

On its way
I went to the Verizon Wireless retail location today in Bristol, PA. They had a non-working model on display and advised me they could only order the phone for me. They did so. I paid $399.00 for the phone which includes the new every two promotion and I was required to sign up for another 2 year contract.
I called to verify that it was shipped and it was!! They gave me a tracking number (I also paid for priority overnight delivery $12.00). I should have tomorrow morning by 10:30. I hope to write the first review!

PIM for i600
I currently download my ACT! contacts to my Palm device, and was looking for the same functionality in a phone. Seeing that the i600 runs Windows Smartphone s/w, does anyone know if I can download ACT! to the PIM on this phone?

No touchscreen?
How do you enter data with no touchscreen? Can you use epocrates?
i600 is at my Verizon store in MaysLanding NJ
Yeah I had a chance to play with the i600 today. I would of pick it up today but they had no rebate information. I guess I can check back in a few day to see if the rebates are in there system.
The screen had great bright color. The size of the i600 was the perfect size not to big like a PDA and not to small wheres your fingers are too big to dial a phone number.
I'm pretty much just waiting for the rebate information to get uploaded into my Verizon stores system so I can get reed of my LG 510.
My friend at Verizon...
...told me that it will be out (depending on
store location) from Nov 15-18.
Also, I was told that since they do not expect
to sell alot of them, only "select high-volume"
stores will carry it. However, it will be on
the web site for purchase.

Is tommorow the big day????
Will I walk into the Verizon store Monday morning and pick up my brand i600? Or will I get this confused look from a Verizon Wireless sales rep telling me you must mean the i700. If I wanted the i700 I would of asked for it!! 😡
It seems I know more about there job than they do.
