BlackBerry Curve 8520

When i recieve text msgs d phone only vibrates and plays the msg alert tune. it doesnt light up like any other phone or even like when there is an incoming call. does anyone know of a setting i can go to to adjust my phone to light up wen there is a new incoming message? also when i go into a wireless area my phone doesnt alert me and i set it to what can i do?

I like this phone but i dont like the theme. is there anyway to get the older blackberry them or os on this blackberry?

I'm thinking of getting this phone as a gift for someone and wanted to know if there is a facebook application on it or that can be downloaded to the phone?

With all the releases of BB's in the past year, I don't understand the why on this device? I mean the 8900 is similar and a pretty decent device. The Bold is real nice and the Oynx is just around the corner.
