Motorola Droid
Ordered the Droid last night!
I am hoping to get it on Friday and then I will leave my review this weekend!
You will probably be like the rest of the 99.99% here that enjoy the phone and will really like it (the 0.01% would be voyagerboy). If you've not used a smartphone before there will be a learning curve but the more you use it the more you'll be glad you bought the Droid. I've had mine since November 2009 and have had zero problems and it does everything I want and more! Congratulations! 😁
Seeing Mupi's and Menno's comments on here have really helped with my decision. Plus they seem like they are willing to help (if someone has a question).
So Mupi & Menno if you have any tips or tricks you would like to share it would be appreciated!
Verizon has definitely cut down on packaging - the box that it came in wasn't much bigger than the Droid itself.
I also have the Zagg InvisbleSHIELD. Any recommendations on a case?
From a previous phone I have the Jawbone BT (first release) Headset.
I will review this weekend!
I only use the Verizon case made for the Droid (non magnet). I had used the screen protectors but found it did impede the sensitivity to touch.
I'm sure the Jawbone will work fine. I switch between using a BlueAnt Q1 and a Motorola Endeavor HX-1. Both work well with the Droid.
Good luck and look forward to your review. 🙂
Does someone have a list of apps that I should get to open up the device even more?
I already have the Handcent SMS, Advanced Task Manager.
Thanks!
If you go to alldroid.com, there's instructions for rooting the phone, if you are interested in that; this will allow you to run enhanced roms (there's a 2.1 rom for the droid out there, for example). However, it isn't necessary to gain root access to enjoy your experience.
I use twitter, so I have twidroid. I find it more intuitive and customizable than seesmic.
Bar code scanner is fun, and has saved me money a couple of times. But you may get weird looks scanning stuff in the store!
Google goggles is absolutely amazing, though perhaps limited in real usefulness. take a picture of a logo, or a famous person, let the thing churn for a few seconds, and...
