HTC Droid Eris

Does anybody have any issues with the camera? I was very happy to be getting a 5MP camera, but most of my pictures are terrible due to streaks or lines in the pictures. Just curious if anybody else is experiencing this.

Does anyone know if there is a way to see what time a text message was sent or received if it didn't occur that day. On mine it only says "yesterday" or the date that it was sent/received.

Can somebody give me some guidance here.... I can view the picture and save it as a contact icon, footprint or as my wallpaper, but for the life of me I can't just save it in my album. Am I missing something?...thanks.

And another -- thanks so much for your help! -- I downloaded the Handcent SMS app and the fonts as well, but when I did that, every time I would get a message it would come in twice, and give me the options to answer the text using the stock messaging or the Handcent messaging (which I could then set up as iphone or Android style, etc.) There seemed to be no way to stop this double-messaging, so I just deleted the Handcent apps but I really liked them.

I am looking to upgrade to the Droid Eris from my Env Touch. I am currently using VZ Navigator. How is the navigation using Google? How does it compare?

My wife and I both got the Eris, the salesman set up a bogus Gmail address on my wife's phone. I have since created a new account , how do I remove the current Gmail account the phone is synchronized to and add the new account I created? Thanks

I have been contemplating this decision for about a month or two and need some help swaying my decision.

I have played around with both phones exclusively and have both good and bad about them both on here. I love the Droid's screen and the OS however do not like the keyboard. On the flip side I looked at the Droid and immediately thought of the Voyager that I have now and I know they are no where close to being the same type of phone but am torn. I kind of big hands so I am not sure the Eris is a good choice with the all touch screen? Thought?

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS 🤭 ....when i click on the red and white envalope for gmail and pull it up origanlly it let me send two messages... now when i try to reply to an email it just constantly says sending and it will never send my emails out ....also another question i had was is there another widgit that i could put on my home or one of my other screens that is bigger that the envalope?? and maybe show the persons picture, email etc.??? I WOULD REALLY REALLY REALLY like to keep my gmail account so if anyone has ANY suggestions please please help me with this because it is getting so frushtrating haveing to get online on google mail just to send out an email every single time... takes way to long...I REALLY APPRECIATE ANY S...

Ok, I'll admit, I did not RTFM. However, I've figured out most of this phone in less than a day. One thing I can't figure out is on one of my 7 screens (or pages) there is a HUGE (as in takes up the whole screen) mail account. I want a small little mail app to move to the screen with all of my mail accounts, and I can't figure out how to GET RID of that mail application (and why so big?) which is wasting one entire screen. Any suggestions? Other than that, I'm loving everything about this little electronic miracle. 😁

Hey peps got a quick that I hope someone can answer for me.

I am a migrated customer from Alltel to Verizon and I am looking at buying an Eris. With Alltel I had a complete data plan on a non-smart phone. If I get an Eris it looks like I will have to buy either the
Email and Web package
or
the Total data package

The question is this....in addition to these two options it also lists options for messaging services. Does the Total data package include messaging or do I have to get a messaging package as well on top of all of that???

I guess I could go to the local store and ask but I'm just feeling lazy....well and hard to leave the house with a baby in tow

The Verizon website has 448 owner/user reviews of the Eris Droid, and practically every single reviewer, whether the user likes, loves or hates this phone (90% love it), comments on the terrible battery life. Some users say it has to be charged at least once or twice daily with normal voice use and limited WiFi use.

What say you folks who have owned and used this phone daily for the past few weeks? Is there any chance HTC is working on some sort of a fix for this issue?

I'm sitting on the fence for now, but would appreciate your insight!

Is there a program similar to this on this phone? I'm trying to find out what all is running, or if there's a way to shut down individual programs. Or do they automatically close when you return to the home screen? Thanks

Does the eris keep your text messages/converstaions with people in chat like boxes?
Or does it store it in a regular inbox?
For example the iPhone keeps it in little boxes like if you were in a chatroom kinda. I'm just wondering because even though I will never get an iPhone, but I am currently waiting for my eris 😁

How exactly does this program work, is it similar to say Windows office? When I select Quick, I'm told there's no files on my SD card . How do I go about creating new files, when I select menu there doesn't seem to be any option to create a new file . Thanks

How do you change the default location on the HTC weather widget, the third one over with the digital clock.

is it just me or is the HTC clock and weather widget REALLY SLOW with the weather??? its 10am where im at and SUNNY however my weather still shows the MOON ☹️ ...(yes i have my mobile network on.) so i was just wondering if any of you guys have noticed that it is a little slow with updating or is there any way to set how often it may update or "sync" itself??? Well I currently have the LG enV touch, and for the most part it is a decent phone. I like the fact that it is not that bulky and the QWERTY keyboard, plus the touchscreen. My friend wants to start a contract with Verizon and she is going to buy the Motorola Droid for herself and offered to buy me the Droid Eris, which I am very found of. From what I have seen the Eris is a very customizable phone, and I love that in a phone. I like to make a phone like what I want and more like me, not what it lets me be. The commericals say that it is a "phone that gets you", and I was just wondering, is that true? Is it very customizable? Or just a little bit more then the others?
