HTC Droid Eris

why don't this work? say it find devices but when you try to send anything ,all it says paired but not connected?

OK, I know the Eris doesn't have the same turn-by-turn mapping that the Moto Droid has, so what kind of map program does it have? "Just" Google maps (non turn-by-turn version)?

Also, can you run VZ Navigator on the Eris? For me, VZ Navigator works fine and I don't need much more, but I've heard it won't work on the Eris.

Once you have the emulators installed, just get ROMs for them from sites, by searching at www.romfind.com, downloading, then playing them from your SD card.

Does anyone know the no commitment price for the Droid Eris?

I really want to get this phone. I currently have a Motorola with Windows Mobile. The OS is garbage but the main draw for me then and still a priority is to sync my calendar, contacts on my PC with Outlook. My wife and I both sync our phones to one common Outlook calendar, etc. The one thing holding me back is HTC's Sync capability. I will not be syncing to a corporate network, just a local Outlook. Only one of us has data access, so wireless sync is not an option. I understand that there is probably Google syncing on the Internet, but I do not want some very secure items in my contact info on the web. I was reading somewhere that Google has some kind of Exchange compatible server I could run to sync with. I am not sure about that or...

I have a few questions about the droid eris with Verizon. I have been a Verizon customer for many years. I have never owned a smart phone and have been using an LG VX-8700 for several years. I am 53 years old and really am not interested in games and other such stuff. I am thinking of getting an Eris, though. I will be buying one from an individual, not from Verizon, because I don't do contracts anymore. I played with an Eris in the Verizon store a few days ago, and and with my limited knowledge of these smartphones, the Eris seemed nice and easy to use. I love when you touch a key on the virtual keyboard how the one you have touched shows up above your finger so you know you have hit the correct key. Very similar to an Iphone. My part...

ok now i think i read this a couple weeks ago on here but i cant seem to find it again... my question is does anyone know how to turn the vibration off on my phone when im pushing the keys?? i think i saw something like you can do it for the messageing and things but not the home,menu,back,search buttons but that is fine with me. im just worried about my vibrating thing inside my phone because it sounds pretty week like it will go out after so long... i'm constintaly having my phone on vibrate because i cant have it out at work...my last phone the "juke" haha was ok but started to go out tward the end of my two year contract...so if anyone knows how to turn that vibrate off when your hitting the keys that would be AMAZING so i dont have to d...

I'm to be getting an Eris phone pretty soon here and I had some questions before I actually go out and buy it, is there any way that you can put a particular text alert for one person. For ex., like can I put a cute text alert tone for my husband and a different one for my mom or sister? I guess what I am trying to say is can I have a different text alert for everyone in my contacts, or does it have to be the same old boring text alert? Thanks

Can anyone let me know when they are expecting the new 1.6 software to be available for the Eris? So far there have been two updates on this phone, but no software update. I read here on another post that it should be in the beginning of 2010. Can anyone confirm a date? Thanks ;)

Is it me or are eBuddy and IM+ missing from the market? Supposedly these are apps that would not show up for dev phones, but as far as I know, Droid Eris is not a dev phone, so I'm suspecting some weird region, device, or carrier block.

OK...ive had my eris for about a couple weeks now and have got to say it is the Best phone i have ever owend....love the UI and the ANDROID MARKET!!!! so heres my ?... My budy has the IPHONE. And i understand that we cant get the exact same apps as them thats not the problem...there is one certin app with the IPHONE called CELL TRACKER ...you type in ANY number and just like google maps it keeps zooming in all the way to the specific location of where that phone is at...wheather or not you have your GPS turned on or off...I was amazed by this 😲 ...So i was wondering if the ANDROID MARKET had anything like this????? ive been looking forever..ive found the one where you can find your specific phone but not any number that you type in to this ...

All I can say is wow. I got this phone today 12/30/09 and have been totally impressed with it since I got it. Just a few questions...Basically Can I connect this to my PC and manage mp3 files and stuff? Secondly how in gods name can you remove that big clock from the first home screen?

When I take a photo with the Eris and try to text it to someone they never get it. They only get a blank text. Is it a compression problem? Maybe it's too big? (That's what she said.)

I purchased my Eris yesterday and the woman at the store was suppose to get my yahoo set up for me and didn't. I have been trying since to do it myself. I have called customer servicce twice and spoke with three people that tried to walk me through the set up. Each time i try to set it up I get an error message saying my server is not responsding, I get the message when trying to configure the incoming and outgoing. I have merged my yahoo account with the gmail account but it is still not allowing me to see my emails and none of them are being sent to my phone. I really like this phone I upgraded from the storm and really don't want to go back! 😕

I just read a review on pcmag.com that said the Eris does not support voice dialing over a BT headset. It's hard to believe this is correct. Can someone confirm one way or the other? The lack of this capability would be a real deal breaker for me so I hope they're wrong.
