New ATT GSM Customer with v600 = very bad sound quality
Just signed up with att gsm 2 days ago and got the moto v600. I have used this phone in dallas, atlanta airport, and central florida, and it has a very bad sound quality.
The calls are not dropping, but it is just sounds like i am in a tunnel or away from the phone when the other person hears me
what could it be? bad phone? bad setting? need updating? or this is what att gsm sounds like?

Could be that particular phone. Until you can get back to the dealer (or call CS if you ordered it there) try reducing the volume of the ear speaker, you might be getting feedback from the mouth mic. I am not talking about the hands free ear piece, but the handset itself.

The sound problem you are having is due to a bad software package. The same thing happened with the first batch of V-300s T-Mobile picked up. The new version of the V-600 T-Mobile will launch in August, has already had the bugs ironed out. That is why it took so long for T-Mobile to pick the phone up. Cingular and AT&T just wanted to get the phones on the market before T-Mobile. The result is a bad handset. It is just another example of AT&T trying to walk before they crawl. Anyone remeber the great AT&T GSM shutdown from last year?

bfedor78--Question. I have a Motorola V600 and I got it the first week it came out. Unfortunately, i've had very bad reception. Constant dropped calls. I recently went and bought a refurbished Sony Ericsson phone and am in the process of unlocking my phone to sell it on ebay.
My question is- is there a way to update the software on this phone to improve the software and get the bugs out. Since they are doing it for T-mobile can they do it for mine as well?
