To all whom it may concern:

I have been a loyal sprint customer for well over 8 years. I have paid my monthly bill on time, every month, that entire time. I have enjoyed both Sprint’s service as well as its phones. However, that will all come to an end if you do not revoke this $10/month fee tacked on to my existing Sprint unlimited data bill just to use the HTC EVO 4G.

I have withheld my adoption of the smart phone craze up to this point due to the lack of what I would consider a “worthwhile” phone on Sprint’s network because I wanted to maintain my loyalty to Sprint and did not want to settle for a lesser phone such as the Palm Pre and others that are currently available.

With the announcement of the EV...

I find it outrageous that people are making so much noise about a ten dollar fee. For you to say that you would switch phone companies (to one that would charge you AT LEAST 50 DOLLARS MORE to match your existing plan) just because Sprint is charging ten dollars a month to use the best phone on the market with the only 4g service bewilders me. I would love for you to grab a verizon, tmobile, or att brochure and compare price plans before you start threatining to change providers over a ten dollar data charge that will give you unlimited 4g access. You do realize that every other provider charges 30 per phone. Just for web. On Sprint, you can have this phone with unlimted mobile minutes, unlimtied text, and unlimted data, gps, and tv for 79.9...

This is starting to get old, if you don't want to pay the $10 fee, then you shouldn't be looking at purchasing this phone, maybe you should be looking at a Hero or moment.

You're failing to see the most basic point of my argument. I can afford the $240. Hell I can afford the $1200. It's not about the money it's about the principle. A company should not call a cell plan "unlimited data" if they are going to tack on an additional fee. This is false advertising in its most basic sense. If their existing plan said "any mobile, any time, unlimited text, unlimited picture mail, and all data up to 5gb included" then decided to make the 'new' plan "unlimited" data for the extra $10 a month that's fine. But they're already professing their current plan as "unlimited", whether that's actually the case or not, so by adding a new fee and making it REALLY unlimited, they are proving that they're previous method of a...

I understand that...
But your failing to realize that you do have an unlimited plan. No one is forcing you to switch to the Evo and add the 10 dollar fee. You could renew your contract and buy the hero or moment and continue to take advantage of unlimited 3g data, but the fact is that the Evo is the first 4g phone, on the first 4g market. The 10 dollar pack (Premium Data Add-On) allows the Evo's users to experience 4g speeds and take advantage of data and voice simultainously. This is something that everyone should have expected, I know innitialy I thought the fee would be between 15 and 30. If you truly want the Evo...in all its feature and spec filled glory, then you will be thanking Sprint that they only tacked a 10 dollar fee to use thi...

You are missing the point the $10 fee is for 4G a Qik, along with data and if you had the cash, you would not be writing such a sorry pity party type of email. LEAVE if you want we do not care. You are a F**K**G BABY.

Your current plan IS for UNLIMITED DATA on Sprint's 3G Network. That's what you have now and can continue to have with ANY 3G device. If you want a 4G device then IF it cost you an extra $10 a month then so be it. Sprint could be a cheapskate and try to charge you at every turn (similar to the way ATT and Verizon CURRENTLY do business) for extra features such as Sprint Navigation, Sprint TV, or FREE PHONE CALLS to ANY CELL PHONE in the entire USA, 7 pm nights etc but that's not the case and for you to type up this diatribe as if you're getting gouged on the price is ridiculous. Sprint throws all kinds of upgrades into their rate plans to not only stay competitive but ahead of the competition.

What this all boils down to is that you wan...

You just don't get it EvoFan. The plan you are on is an unlimited data plan for 3g. Obviously 4g is going to cost more..and so will 5g, 6g...etc. Did you think you were going to be able to keep that $120 a month unlimited plan for the rest of your life or something? Lol...get it together.

That only means that the iPhone will continue to be $50 more expensive than the EVO, and at least $60 more expensive for every other phone that Sprint carries.

"I couldn't STAND paying an extra $10 to Sprint so I went to ATT so I could pay an extra $50."

Verizon charges $10 for data for every "multimedia" device they sell. Multimedia meaning touch screen or keyboard phone, whether the customer wants it or not, it is a requirement. Only phones that do not require it are the intensity, cosmos and razzle, if you get a plan or upgrade after 01/18/10. That is crap when it comes to a $10 charge.

Sprint is only charging $10 for 4G capabilities. I am not in a 4G area, but there is one an hour away and I travel enough to want the feature the few times a year I will be in that area. This is not a concern for the customer that has been wanting and waiting for this phone. Haters will always hate, if people did not hate on this phone something would be wrong.

My bill is 69.99 unlimited what I nee...

What is this? A forum of a bunch of rude people?!! If you want to share your opinion about something then share it respectfully!! EVOfan has expressed himself much more maturely than some of you folks on here!! And he shared something with you all that someone else maybe sharing in his concerns with.

He obviously does have a concern with the extra money. He's somebody's son and somebody's husband to say the least. The disrespect that is shown on here in expressing an opinion is completely obnoxious. It's easy to see that some of you have a very limited vocabulary if you have to use such disrespectful language in a public forum!!

i agree to fullofsmiles, however mr evofan i understand your issue, but as Sprint is the only one with the 4g network we will be adding the charge for having to use a better quality for data, if the other CARRIERS will have 4g then by that time the fee might be removed. thanks have a nice day

this is the stupidest thing i have ever read.

and btw, the unlimited plan will be $110 plus taxes and fees.

quit complaining. this is so lame. there are plenty of phone out there for you to choose from and plenty of service providers. sprint finally stepped up their phone game and are offering us unlimited 4g for $110 per month. that beats any national plan available from anywhere.

so stop whining.

Yea I started laughing when I read this post from Evofan. The evo clearly isn't the right phone for him. I guarantee Allsmiles or whatever is the same person as Evofan.

Evofan- we are all so very lucky that 4g is ONLY costing us $10 more a month. Some reviews from several websites had the possibility of 4g charges up to $30 extra. Good work Sprint, heck of a deal!

ukeeba, i apologize that you are upset about this $10 fee but I work for the company in a call center & I can explain the fee to you. This fee is not just b/c of the internet. the 3G internet is still free through the data plan on the non-4G phone. This fee is like the HD upgrade fee. When you upgrade your service through your cable company from SD to HD they charge an extra fee b/c of the extra capabilities. same thing with this phone. This is an HD phone on the 4G wireless network. There are things on this phone that the reg. data plan can't handle due to the enriched capabilities of this phone.

also just so you know the 69.99 EVERYTHING DATA is unlimited data. I have seen customer use over 10G of data on their cell phones. and there is no cap on it. to get the 4G wireless tethering is a charge of $29.99 and the 4G enhancement for the phone is the $10 if you think about it when att and verizon go to lauch their 4g you know that they are going to be charging you out the wazoo for their "premium services"

* The $10 Premium Data Fee is not a charge for 4G service.

* It is for a data rich experience with uncapped data usage.

I think I might end up paying too much.

* We're talking savings here.

* Sprint's Everything Data plan with Any Mobile Anytime for $69.99
plus $10 Premium Data fee still beats Verizon's and ATT's unlimited talk,
text and data plans by $40!

* And they don't have a 4G network!

It looks like a typical Android. Why pay $10 bucks more a month?

* Think Killer Multimedia!

* EVO's 1GHz Snapdragon processor improves device speed and
performance making applications launch faster.

* The user experience is unlike any other phone available. Hear that
iPhone?

* EVO's 4.3 display scr...

I used to work for Sprint. I was in CDMA customer service and didn't enjoy the job but it was worth it.

The company was great to their employees (even the lowly call center reps like me) and paid us well. The benefits were good and we had high standards for quality and issue resolution.

Did I mention that they paid us well? The hourly wage was above the average for call centers and I would routinely get large commissions every month -- it was sales, but with the vast majority of customers I was actually saving them money.

For the past 10 years, Sprint has had a bad reputation for service but in the last quarter of 2009, they surpassed AT&T in customer satisfaction on the J D Power survey. That's not something that companies ta...

I really don't understand the big stink about the $10 charge for the Evo.

All AAA members and credit union members are eligible for a 10% discount off their monthly service. That more than compensates for the fee, in my opinion. Besides, Sprint's plans are far cheaper than the competition to start with.

Not to mention that I could cancel my aircard (which costs me $60 a month), get the Evo, pay the $10 and the $29.99 to use it as a hotspot - saving myself $20 every month, and getting faster speeds and more capabilities to boot! Talk about bang for your buck.

It's all in how you look at it. The good far outweighs the "bad" on this one.
