I was trying to get the evo but im not due for a upgrade until a year for now. I just dont want to pay 500 dollars for the phone lol.
...
Add a Line and give your phone now to someone and have them pay for it..... Bout the only way you are going to get it any cheaper then that. You should be eligable for 75 dollars off full retail price if you have had yours for a year. you can get a 1 yr upgrade for 75 off full retail. Then every 2 years is new phone at discounted price.
...
well sprint lets me upgrade every year at the 150 discount price. The thing is i just upgraded to the touch pro 2 in march so now i would have to wait until march next year but i dont want to though. thanks for telling me about adding a new line i guess i can add a line and just use one phone since i should be splitting minutes but the data plans might be a problem
...
The Evo is $449.99 retail price, you could probably sell your Touch Pro 2 for $200-$300, you come out paying only $200-ish for the Evo. No brainer.
...
well said dont add a line thats just more money then anyone would want to spend.
u can look into the buy-back and see how much u can get for the phone.
it sounds like u have a perfuerd
...
well said don't add a line thats just more money then anyone would want to spend.
u can look into the buy-back and see how much u can get for the phone.
it looks like u have a premier account with us. i would try calling in and see what can be done u never know what they might just do
...
I just went to a a sprint store and they said they only going to give me 82 dollars. If i got 150 to 200 that would be great but im not sure what else i could do.
...
If you don't get a discount for where you work already check in a store to see if you qualify for a monthly discount. You might be able to add an additional line to your account for not much more than you're paying now.
...
Buyback programs will never give you as much money as the phone is actually worth. A touch pro 2 could easily sell on craigslist or ebay for 150-200. Thats the route I would go.
...
Yes. Email Sprint through their online and request an advancement of "sprint premier" status. That's all I did.
...
How long had you been a Sprint customer and what was your previous phone purchase/plan history with them?
I am curious about doing this but I wonder if they have minimum guidelines you have to meet for them to bump you up.
...
Here are the guidelines for Sprint Premiere:
Now Sprint unleashes "Sprint Premier." As they say, "unique perks you won't find anywhere else." Here's what you need to be automatically enrolled:
* For three consecutive months, consumer customers must be on an individual wireless plan of at least $69.99 per month or spend at least $99.99 per month on a plan that shares minutes.
Or
* Must have been a Sprint wireless customer for at least 10 years.
That's so easy, a caveman could do it. Here's what you get once you're in the club:
* Early Upgrades: After only one year customers can receive our new customer price on a new handset. That's almost a year sooner than other customers. For accounts sharing minutes, the earl...

Yeah I read about that after seeing your post. The way you worded "advancement of Sprint premier status," I thought that maybe you didn't actually qualify through those guidelines but were able to convince them to give it to you anyway.
Also, when I checked into the premier program on the Sprint site, I am pretty sure they changed it to 6 consecutive months with the $69.99 or higher plan as opposed to only three.

Ok, update:
Chatted wit customer service and upgraded my account to the $69.99 Everything Data. He said that after three months from today I would be upgraded to the premier account status and be able to get the full upgrade credit on a new Evo.
...
Yes they did the same thing to me. But I emailed them and said I've been with them for 9 years and they moved me to premiere status the next day. I am typing this response on the Evo and its much better than the Hero. I jokingly asked at the radio shack located inside tgat dreadful sams club if they had any in stock and they had 3 in stock.
...
OK, that's the info I was looking for, I figured you must have some bargaining chip in order for them to give you that status immediately. I've only been a customer for about 2 1/2 - 3 years, so I don't know if they'll be as willing to do the same thing for me.
Either way, thanks for the tip as I still was able to work out a much quicker upgrade than waiting for 3/2011.
