If I am stuck with marketplace apps, I'll just stick with iPhone.

These will be rooted in no time, given the fact that the Euro Galaxy S already is.

It has a memory card slot, up to 16 gb, so why can I not put music, pics, videos, etc. on it and enjoy them? I can on my much cheaper and less sophisticated Samsung phones, but not on this?

There's no way this phone won't allow side loading. Even if something said the phone doesn't it had to be a misprint.

No disrespect to duncan38d, but he has severely misinformed some of you all. Sideloading in the case that EliteABombAZ is referring to is the ability to load 3rd party app outside of the Android Marketplace. You will still have the ability to load pics, music, and video to this phone with no problems!!!

Isn't that what jailbreaking the phone is for? iPhone didn't allow third party apps outside of Apple's marketplace until jailbroken. It may void warranty but if desperate, won't it be possible with this phone?

I've been side-loading apps to my non-rooted Backflip since I got it. You just put your phone into debug mode, and then it allows you to load them via the SDK. Geez people... freaking out over something that isn't a big deal...

Not to even mention... why is an iPhone customer complaining about something that there isn't even a work around for you to be able to side-load apps outside of a jail-break? Atleast I don't have to root my Android phone and void the warranty...

Not everyone wants to have to load up the SDK just to add Apps. They should be able to do so from the beginning, now by having to use a workaround.

Dr,
In some ways I agree, and AT&T shouldn't have tossed this restriction on the phone. But most people who sideload, already have the phone connected to a computer, so more a minor inconvenience. Then again, I've had had an Android phone since Nov. or Dec. of 2008 and only like sideloaded 4 or 5 times, and for the most part, they were checking out a beta irc application for someone.
