HTC Droid Incredible
America's Choice plan???
We're currently on an ancient AC2 plan with VzW. I know that I can keep this plan if I upgrade to a blackberry or another smart phone. But on this site:

Under 'price and availability', it says this:
•DROID Incredible customers will need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk and an Email and Web for Smartphone plan. Nationwide Talk plans begin at $39.99 monthly access. Email and Web for Smartphone plans start at $29.99 for unlimited monthly access.
Does this mean that I will NOT be able to keep the AC plan with this phone? ☹️

I have the a grandfathered plan with Verizon and I can get the Incredible. I have the basic data plan you need to get any of these type of phones although I get a corporate discount through work on the price. You can go the Verizon website and it will list the phones compatible with your current plan. Can't wait for this phone. Was going to wait for a Win 7 phone but my son is overseas and Skype mobile will be a big help for me.

the only reason you'd want to stay on your ac plan is because of how it accounted for data. on ac plans, data was charged as a minute, on nw plans, data is charged at $1.99 per mb. most ac plans allow for same minutes as nw counterparts with few exceptions. (there was a 500 family share).

The only real difference between AC and Nationwide plans is how they handle data. CS has access for Nationwide plans with the same minute bundles.

Yeah, the reason we want to keep the ACII is because my husband likes the data capabilities/options with that plan better.
When I logged in to my account on vzw, I went through the motions of upgrading so I could view the phone options, and it had a checkmark beside the Incredible (as do the rest of the smart phones) that says "Compatible with your current plan". On the flipside, the majority of the 'feature' and 'multimedia' phones have a little information tag that says "Requires a change to your calling plan".
I'm going to take that as evidence that I won't need to switch to a Nationwide plan to get the incredible...I'll be sure to ask and confirm with someone at vzw before I buy, though.
