HTC Droid Incredible
How well does this thing actually make and receive calls?
The phone's calling and receiving of call quality is #1 on my list.
I've read initial reports that the cell-phone signal strength of the Incredible is approximately two bars lower than the Motorola Droid. For me, this is unacceptable!
I've been waiting for a phone like this for quite some time and in order for me to purchase the Incredible, the signal strength and call quality must be 'incredible' too!
This is a phone... first... and a 'computer', e-mail platform... video wonder, etc... second.
1. to receive a call requires that you swipe a bar on the phone, down to accept, up to reject a call - it goes to voicemail. So you cannot answer using BT with the phone in your pocket.
2. to make a call requires that you tap the phone AT LEAST 4 times: awaken/unlock/voicedial widget/confirm. The first two can be done by feel, but the last two requ...

But the only place you'll really see it is at the very Fringes of a tower. Remember, "bars" don't mean as much with a CDMA phone. as long as your device doesn't show "no service" you should be able to make and receive calls and do data no issue.
I came on the forum and asked some 'solid' questions/concerns.
Maybe you play games with your smart-phone but I use mine for business and security measures.
I've had the same cell phone number for seventeen years bubba! I survived an armed invasion in my home in a nice neighborhood.
I need an excellent signal for my cell/smart phone.
Perhaps you should be a bit more like your name rather than like the moron who you purport yourself to be.

Yeah! What he said!!!! Now all you "bubbas" can just go STFU if you don't like the answer you're given. 🙂 🙂
I am one who HAS the PHONE (alongside an iPhone 3GS) and I have had NO issues at all with regards to reception. Just like all the other VZW phones I've had in the past (before I was lured to mediocrity by a great device), I don't pay attention to the bars and the phone just works...every time I need it to. By thge way...I've had the SAME PHONE NUMBER for 14 HOURS! (Who the heck cares how long you've had your number anywa...

btw I'm just dropping in because it's just about upgrade time...and the choices are making my head spin. any suggestions? I really like and want the iphone but in my area at&t service is not the greatest and doesn't work at work at all...and I'm quite happy with verizon...how is the andriod market (like apps) compared to the iphone apps?
Not quite the same quantity, but, for everything except games, there is quite a nice selection (game choices are getting better, but it's the slowest segment). Big companies are starting to come on board with android though, and I think that I/O this week, and android 2.2, will entice even more to join the Droid revolution.
What are some type of apps you're interested in? I can give you an idea of what's out there.
Many people have no problem with ATT, I'll stipulate that. But I have been carrying the Incredible AND the iPhone, since the Incredible came out.....and I'll be porting all three numbers BACK over to VZW by EOM June. Every time I have to make a call on the VZW phone because the stupid ATT phone keeps dropping the call, or failing, or getting all garbled....I am more sure the change is right.

Anyway...I'm not a business guru either, so any of the commerce and trade apps would be probably not be on my device.
I am however a nurse, and going back to school this fall and any healthcare apps I'd be all about. Drug references, dictionaries etc...I also like interactive apps and ones that give you that weird chuckle from time to time, if that makes sense.
I actually went to the VZW store last night due to my phone not charging because the port is broken an...
