Mainly because android doesn't handle much more than that atm, so the rest would be wasted space. you could most likely get a 32gb in there once the OS can handle it.
What do you think of the phone? Had a hands on today.. thing is SLICK

Im really enjoying it. I like it much better then the Droid which I actually liked a lot. My only complaint was the droids weight and shape. The build quality was amazing. But i like that the incredible fits so easily in a back pocket, being so thin and light. Also it seems to be much faster then the droid. I did like the droids gallery though. I'll miss that. Otherwise im happy for trading the droid for the incredible. what do you use?

I can't get use to the HTC interface . . . I find the Moto much cleaner and easier to use. But the size, weight, and speed are great. I loved the fact the Moto Droid had both keyboards but after using it for so long I never use the slide-out keyboard; on screen is great. HTC seemed close but they again re-arranged the keys and thre me off. 🙂
Staying with Moto for now . . . looking forward to the next gen Moto Droid.

The EVO will get 32GB expandable it is a hardware issue not an OS issue.

No, it's OS. The Droid is built for 32gb as well, but anything over 16gb isn't handled quite right. Offering the higher gig card option (like the front facing camera)is future proofing the device, adding features before the OS catches up to it

By the time the phone drops OS 2.2 Froyo will be out and we will all see. Though you made a valid point. Maybe HTC knows something we do not.

I just read an article that referenced our discussion. They backed up your point and stress a fact that the Froyo update should take care of those concern. So I guess we will see. 32GB here I come.
p.s. It was on one of the many android websites, simply search 32GB and android OS.

I'm hoping it will. Though I don't have my full SD card filled yet (16gb) I would if I had TV out though.. I have at least 16gb of movies backed up on my computer for my laptop./

I feel your pain, I work for BIG RED and have a sprint phone. I cannot wait until the evo gets here. I need 32GB for all the music and movies I own.
