The whole phone is huge. Incredible piece of hardware, but way too big for me.

I think it's perfect. I own the original Droid and love it. Today I held an EVO in my hands and held it side-by-side to my Droid, and realized the huge difference in screen sizes from the 3.7 to the 4.3. In my head I had figured it would be a small increase but wow did it make a difference. The EVO felt awesomely perfect in my hand and even though I love having a slide-out keyboard, I gott admit...it's got me thinking how nice this phone is going to be.

You know, I just have to say, it was the physical keyboard that sold me on the original Droid. Now that I have it though, I almost never use it. The on screen keyboard is perfectly usable, and way more convenient most of the time.
And this phone should support multitouch on the virtual keyboards, and is supposed to have swype as well, which is just amazing (disclaimer: I haven't used it myself, having missed their public beta window, but everyone I know who uses it absolutely raves about it). I think the combination of those, plus the relatively enormous real estate available should all but negate the need for a hardware keyboard.

Its definitely a big phone but I think overall its a nice package. It should sell decently as well. I think I might go and play with one when its released and make up my mind on switching to VZ or not. I really would prefer an iPhone 4 but no way in hell will I bend over and take it up the you know what with ATT's data plans.

I have TMobile and service is pretty sketchy so I am at the point to where I am willing to pay a little more to get more. The Captivate looks nice but I am no fan of the tiered data plans at ATT.

Are you kidding? They're finally starting to make phones my size! I'm 6'2", and my hands are very big, so if I can get one of these, maybe I'll be able to finally push just one button at a time, instead of mashing all of the surrounding ones as well! 🙂

I think for some the larger screen will provide enough utility to forego purchasing the iPad and other tablets. For that reason I think the screen size is excellent.
It seems this phone has larger frame than the Sprint EVO, although bopth both have the same size screen. I suspect, in the future they can make phones where the overall dimensions are not much larger than the screen size.
