Motorola V810
Can phonebook entries be copied??
I had been following the Motorola V810, which was touted as the successor to the V60 series that I previously had. The V60 proved a tremendous piece of equipment, ergo my high hopes for the V810.
I was amazed by the relatively little information on this V810 Forum relating to the operation of the phone and so much whining about its ultimate unavailabity with Verizon. Thus, the handwriting was on the wall that the V810 would not be a heavily marketed phone. I imagine that this was probably because Motorola wanted to push its limited capability, yet more profitable, Bluetooth ...

You make some solid points. There's no question the manual is sketchy on certain functions, most notably, the speakerphone. And, I do not think you can copy the entry in Contacts like you could on the v60. For that matter, you cannot easily add a number from the notepad to an existing contact -- on the v60, this was accomplished using the "Browse" feature.
That said, many of these omissions are also left out of newer CDMA phones such as the v710 and v265. I also came from the v60 Series and I had to change some old habits.
As for the BREW apps...there are dozens of apps for the v810 but the USCC version and the Verizon test models only have the limited BREW catalog on the phone. This is not a decision by either carrier, but ...

I explained to the CS agent that when I purchased my v810 at a USCC company store in November, I explained that the only Easy Edge application I needed for the V810 was the Real Time Traffic Application. That's it. I have no need for ringtone downloads to impress my friends.
Three salespersons at that store assured me that the Real Time Traffic Application was available THEN for the V810. They also assured me that N-Web was available for the phone at that time. That their brochures contain disclaimers about all Applications are available for all phones is immaterial. So I s...

My suggestion for you is to email customer service, or even other people at USCC's corporate office and explain your issue. Obviously, the agent should not have told you the app was available. USCC would like nothing better than to have all BREW apps on all phones but, again, its not a USCC decision. Qualcomm basically controls the access to BREW apps. Perhaps the app is being tested.
Also, I would go to a USCC corporate-owned store. Reps there will have bett...

The signal problem I have been experiencing was confined to my home area. I reside precisely 1 mile north of USCC's regional HQ on Cumberland Ave. in Chicago.
My home area is heavily wooded, and I had experienced the same problem on Verizon's network when I moved to the area 3 yrs. ago. At that time Verizon had me download a PRL update to my V60 and they extended ring time from four to six rings. From then on no dropped calls.
When I first reported the missed calls on the V810 to USCC I advised of the similar problem I encountered with Verizon and of Verizon's solution. The CS agent was averse to changing the ringtime stating they required administrative approval and ...

Obviously, if you can prove you did not get the service you expected, then you would have the right to cancel without penalty. That said, I think USCC is doing all it can to attract customers in the Chicago area what with its great plans, 30-day guarantee and the national plans, which are designed to attract users like us who do not want...
