why the delay?

I understand that the 710 had some issues and is being tweaked. But why havent they released the 810 in the U.S.

So that the v710 -- the fanncy one -- comes first.

Then this one comees as the downscale model.

It's a marketing thing.

Marketing maybe, issues definitely!
The V810 was originally supposed to launch in Q4/2003 and the V710 was supposed to follow. If you go back through some of the old threads in this forum, you'll find info regarding the issues found during testing of this phone.
