Mobile Office Kit Quicklink Phone Book has a MAJOR BUG!
As you VX4600 owners know, you are allowed to create new "Groups" in your VX4600 phone book to assign your phone contacts to. HOWEVER, be aware that when you upload the information from your phone into your desktop Quicklink Phone book, it DOES NOT recognize the new Groups from you phone book. It only recognizes the original default groups, and assigns an 8 digit number in place of the Group. Also, if you add names to the phonebook using the desktop Quicklink phone book software, neither the new Groups nor the 8 digit number is available - only the original default Groups are available for assignment. I contacted the maker of the Quicklink phone book software (Smith-Micro), and told me that Verizon already has the latest software to correct ...

Heard from the Verizon rep today. As I feared, it's an LG issue. LG does not allow the software writers to access the portion of the phone where the user-created Groups are stored. Apparently it's an issue with all LG phones and not just the VX4600. At least that's what I'm told. It's annoying, but the phone is so nice I'm just going to live with it. I suppose I'll just have to live with the default Groups and not create new ones. At least it's better than the VX7000 - that one only allows 10 contacts per Group. That forces you to create new groups which of course will not be recognized by any known desktop phone book software. Now THAT is lame!!
