New Info For You All (Not so good)
Just some info for you all who are waiting on this phone. I was talking to my VZW source a month ago and he was raving about how this phone was coming along so well. Sorry guys, it hit a major speedbump. I was talking again to my source, and he said that the speakerphone on it was not nearly as loud and they want it, and they are frantically trying to fix it.
He said this: The order of likely phones out will be the Slider (out now) v810, VX7000, 9900, A670, *A690*, A790, VX8000

They are shooting to have the VX8000 out before/at Christmas 2004. Obviously this is unrealistic because VZW is always 6 month later than they say. So take it for what its worth.

FYI. VZW is "really" trying to launch Samsung A790 in April. They make it much higher piority than other models.

As true as that is, do you really believe that they are going to make it by then. I doubt it and sway more towards early June. The A790 is in the final testing stages, that means final approval of it by the end of March/early April. Then the mass production, we are in late April. Then sending the demos out to the stores, this predates the release by a couple of weeks, and then they will be out, Ok fine so we will say MID MAY.
Now- this is if it all runs smoothly, does it ever run smooth with phone releases with VZW? Hmmm?
