I was just talking to a verizon rep. (4-30-04). She told me that the phonewill be out in december and that verizon will be introducing brand NEW plan. Just like nextel. the in network will be changed to PTT network and the plans will be the same (39.99) 400 mins unlim N+W, unlim PTT. Also the v60p is the reason for the 8sec delay its not verizon. With the A690 there will be a .3 sec delay (better than Nextel). 😁

yea it is nextel right now is .5 Verizon is running that new CDMA with the broadband internet and thats what makes it so fast. Nextel is still running 5-8 year old towers.

The evdo when it go's nationwide will free up the express network 1x for faster ptt connection times..But there is no way a .3-1 sec delay will ever happen with voip express

Sorry mr. know it all. But maybe im am the rep. Maybe i work for verizonwireless. and also my job is to convert the 1x network to evdo network. Because im clean up the mess the first 2 dumb as*s did makes PTT. What took them 3 years took me 3 months.

false information..The reps are very misinformed and ignorant..So I guess that
would be you..PTT will not work off of EVDO..
It will work with 1x Express network..I dont work for verizon wireless,but I know someone who is very high up in the company and knows
what he is talking about..He values his job and
will not post any info on this or any other forum,but keeps me updated on this ptt thing..
It will improve,however will never be as fast

I'm just curious that, .3 sec actually means "0.3" sec? So it means when you talk in one side, you can hear voice from the other side after only 0.3 sec? If that's what you mean, it's NOT happening on Samsung A690 with Verizon network at this moment (as in year 2004). 3 to 5 sec delay is more realistic.

are you on crack??? i get better times with my v60p!!! really i get about a second and a half to two seconds connect times!!!! and if they get the right phone/software it could be about a second everytime!!! also update on the sammy phone it wont be out till december 2004 or possibly begining 2005!!! that sucks!!!!!

well... by "connect time", you mean "after how long you can speak when you start PTT", or "after how long the other phone (the one you call to) gets your PTT connection when you stat PTT"? If it's the first one, yes, 1 sec is a reasonable number - Samsung does that too. If it's the second answer, then WOW! Moto did a amazing job... even the regular cellular call can not be that good...

There is no way you are getting these times(1-2 seconds)on intial connection..Why doesn't most VZW stores have 2 v60p's for demo??

yes iam getting connection times like that, and the reason theres not 2 in the store for a demo is because there not pushing the PTT because of the software issues with this phone, but the PTT is working in my state quickly 😉

I would love to see a demo of 1-2 seconds initial connect time..If that is true I would be all over the ptt again..Are you still missing a lot of calls due to the updating of
