Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket
Can anyone verify if Speakerphone is half or full duplex?
Thanks!
I contacted a Samsung Representative (again), as I found it hard to believe such a top end phone would not have this as a design requirement and wanted a second opinion to agree.
They informed me (via chat) that "both"... the Galaxy SII and the Galaxy SII Skyrocket "support Full-Duplex operation." I pressed him further for details of his source and he came back and told me, (his texted words): "Let me inform you clearly that all the telecommunication devices are supporting Full-Duplex operation."
Do you have any doubt about your tests? Could it have been something else that may have lead you to believe that? As you can tell this means a lot to me and I just want to double check things.
Thank you!
- From that response, the rep you spoke to you doesn't have a great grasp of the English language and may not have understood your question. In fact, it doesn't sound like they're talking about the speakerphone at all, but rather just the regular phone functionality.
- Do you regularly set your phone on the table for multiple people in one room to actively talk to someone else? If so, then you may need full-duplex. But if, like most people, you only use it for one-on-one conversations, I think you may be putting too much weight on this spec. A good half-duplex speakerphone can be really good; indistinguishable from a full-duplex to most people.
