There is an Aug 21st date floating around with Sprint right now. End of August or early September would be the best guess. No exact date yet.

What about Big Red? We all know it's going there, just need a date; my poor wife is nursing her BBS2 along and is really looking forward to this.

Frustrating that Verizon is not mentioned. I'm still nursing my Storm 1 and wishing there was something I could feel good about upgrading to. Either Verizon or RIM is going to lose me sometime soon.

Well, the talk on CrackBerry forums is that it will land on Vz sometime at the end of this month, with some saying early Sept. Makes sense to me but what do I know hahaha. I'm just like the others who want this phone to come to Big Red for whatever reason, still in the dark.

Its going to Verizon at some point. They have caught branded phones out in the wild before from what I understand. Odd Verizon is so quiet about any blackberry lately.

I need to look at this thing first hand. If it's a POS, i'll probably head off to the dark side and get the other fruit Phone 🤣

This Storm2 refresh boasts cheap materials right out of the box (Plastic Screen...Unbelievable). God forbid they would have released a 4" screen or larger.

If past history is any indicator, OS7 will be bugged and glitch-ridden, just like that garbage they released with the original Storm.

And it will take forever (A RIM Exclusive) to respond to the mountain of complaints. Just read the upcoming forums!

So if I drop this thing at least the screen won't crack into a million pieces, it will just sort of pop out and the rest of it will fall apart 🤣

Plastic is an interesting choice. The excuse I heard was to save weight. Other blackberries have them too but I would still rather have glass.

No a deal breaker for me, but that other fruit phone keeps calling me 🤣 Rumor has it that they got rid of the glass on the back of that one and replaced it with metal 🤣

There's a remedy for that. Don't drop the phone! There's two negatives with the Iphone. Unless your tethered to an AC outlet, the option to drop in a new battery is not part of their vocabulary.

Amazing! If your outdoors with a depleted power source, your basically S...Outta Luck! That's a game breaker for me even though RIMJOB's 12 minute reboot is enough to cause ya to drop the device...on purpose!

Oh that pushed email! I'd be Droiding and browsing on that 4.3" screen if it wasn't for the one feature that keeps me prisoner to BB.

This 9850 is a glorified Storm and the OS7 will join Palm handsets the day the first promotion goes out for QNX. Plastic Screen? the weight differential between the 9550 & the 9850 is less than an ...

As I reported from my reliable sources on a post above on this forum last week, its official! The Plastic Storm2 Refresh will be in Verizon stores on September 15th! Important.....Make sure you get a screen protector....$10 more wasted dollars for Verizon...

Looks like 2 different iPhones will be out soon. The lower model is a tweaked iPhone 4 with the "death grip" antenna moved around. The higher model has a larger screen area (maybe up to 4 inches).
Your right, you are SOL with the sealed battery being depleted and no power source, but there's an app for that 🤣 ...ok...bad joke.
I just upgraded my laptop from a 5 year old Macbook Pro to a new one with that same blasted sealed battery. The difference is dramatic. You do get double the battery life and I don't have to carry around a spare. I get what apple did, but it won't work for everyone. Android is out because of the battery life for me.

Hmm...a glorified Storm or a glorified ipod?... 🤣 🤣 🤣

Its certainly not a glorified Iphone, not with the review on this site today. The typing experience is one of the worst for a software keyboard that Mr. Zeman ever experienced.

There's your game breaker. Null/Void/Exception (Rim famous popups).

It does everything else in catch up mode to run of the mill devices out there today.

The 9850 Plastic Storm2 refresh with new RIM touch experience technology.....Sure Scratch....

The device design makes possible, loads of better competitive handset choices. With OS Temp 7...the hottest thing on CB until QNX makes it just like the OS6.1 dinosaur. That's the one whereby Original Torch owners were "thrown under the bus" with this great revolutionary Storm2 refresh!

It seems this compan...

Yea, I read the review. I was surprised at the keyboard remarks. I have gotten pretty good at typing on the Storm2.
I agree that the specs don't make it a stand out phone among everything else out there. It's become a stop gap phone because of it's late release until QNX makes it's way into phones next year.

Well, my opinion having not seen one in person yet is that it's much better than it's troubled predecessors. More memory, bigger screen, better processor, the best the old BB OS will be. A cool phone for Blackberry users and middle of the pack for others I guess. I think it's more than a refresh. They tried to pass one of those off on us late last year and it wisely got yanked.

I'm just being sarcastic about it being a refresh. Seriously, nowadays, texting has become more imperative on a cell phone, more so than composing emails, mainly because many of your email recipients might not be availed with lap or desktop computer at a particular time. All, however, will have handset devices with them.

For quick communication, that text, and the ability to send it on the go, requires an accurate, convenient typing experience. From what I read on the Phonescoop test, the Torch is horrible...typo city, even in landscape position. Though the Storm improved from the original release, software key boards have never been a RIM strong point.

Perhaps I'm imagining it, but this 9850 release doesn't feel deserving of a tw...
