RIM Will Soon Start Courting Buyers
Much Like Palm,
Google will buy RIM for their patents and make their OS a paid app for the Android Platform.
RIM will not see the end of Q1 2013 (end of Q2 at the latest)

OK Seriously
This whole patent thing has gone way WAY out of porportion lately. It seems there needs to be a major gap in the patenting process that needs to be closed up to keep upstarts from hanging onto an idea drawn on a napkin in the hopes they can sue Apple or whoever when they come up with the same idea all on their own.

Which Blackberry?
So I have been mandated at work to get a Blackberry. I use an iPhone 4 and love it. Which Blackberry should I get that would be the easiest for me to get used to using?

Torch 9850 or Bold 9930 (with qwerty)?
I'm researching Smart Phones. Given that I'm still in the stone age (flip phone), I'm not going to be very big on apps or screen size. I've settled on BB. The major difference I see between the Bold 9930 and Torch 9850 is the physical vs virtual keyboard? I wont be doing emails on the phone but a little texting. Which one is a better choice?

iPhone back to Blackberry impressions
What a dedicated Blackberry addict I am even if it's to the bitter end 🤣
My fling with the iPhone is now history and I have a brand new 9850 in my hands...whoopi 😁
First thing I did was go to Seidio's website and order a case, holster and mandatory screen protectors. I like their products a lot because you are not pulling off the case to put the phone in a dock every night. Except...there is no dock for this thing yet from Seidio 😳
Like Stormsurvivor says, the screen protectors don't cover the entire exposed surface of the phone because the screen is all one piece of seamless plastic. We will see how this holds up over time.
Other interesting things:
-The lock button is now top center which is completely covered if in m...

Anyone trying the free RIM apps?
Hated Drive Safely Pro- After my blackberry started reading my emails allowed in a crowded fast food restaurant and I couldn't easily shut it off, I threw this one in the can 🤣
Shazam encore-Lots of fun and seems to work really well guessing the songs. Love this app!
I have always been a fan of Sim City. Sim City Deluxe is great nostalgia for me. The Sims 3 I just don't get how to play easily and for that reason I won't be playing it much ☹️
I still need to play around with the others. Vlingo is the best thing I got after I dumped Siri 🤣
A morning of inconvenience with delayed emails gets me all this. Nice gesture. If this happens a couple of more times maybe I'll get to try every app in AppWorld 🤣

Blackberry to iPhone impressions
Well my move from the Storm 2 to an iPhone 4s is not without it's problems. I may be back, but I am still on the fence about it.
Pros:
Siri is cool and almost a smart@ss at times. Best voice recognition system out there but thats not saying much because I never thought much of these systems
-no crashes, some momentary freezes, seamless and fluid device
-fun device for the masses that can make everyday life easier and ...yea...that word again...fun
cons:
-email...email...email
Anyone know you can't have iPhone and a desktop email clients running POP3 at the same time without issues? If both are set to check every few minutes or so, one of them will lock you out and not retrieve email. Outlook on my desktop is full of error codes. A...

I think it's really nice
That Verizon allows people to upgrade the software on their handsets. It is cool to see that they are so incredibly lenient and don't lock people into the same old software year after year like some carriers.
I love Verizon.
No Video chat eh?
Ok, I think I answered my own question but if anyone is sure can you please respond; no front facing camera?! Not a deal breaker, just want to know.
Thanks-JT

Not Upgradable to QNX ?
Have a storm 2 now and like the BB OS but longing for a better web experience. Verizon store suggested it could be upgraded to QNX but web search looks like that needs two processors. I cabn't be stuck with another lame duck for 2 years and will probably be switching to Android or IPhone 5. Just wanted to comment.

BB FAIL!! Storm 2 vs Torch 9850
Love love loved my Storm 2, however it was sluggy, that was my only gripe. Waited so patiently and dealt with iPhone ridiculers until the monza, monaco then finally TORCH came out.
This phone sucks. Someone said it best, Its a lot of fun to "get info from" but horrible to "input info into". The keypad experience is super duper duper wack,
I was so happy to know this phone came with SURETYPE, but its not the same and when in portrait mode that little arrow that opens and closes the keyboard is a disaster. It tests my patience when im typing I cant help in anyway not to tap it and close my keyboard, the keys are small and close centered. its a disaster = FAILED KEYBOARD.
I wont even start on Landscape mode. enough said - go go gadget...

Great Phone!
Is it just me or is this phone flawless? 😁
Has anyone had any issues that I need to look for? The only issues I have had are compatibility issues with other apps I had previously purchased for the Curve.

Wow!
Verizon I am ashamed...usually you are a company that prides yourself on launching first...USCC even beat you to this phone by a full 2 weeks!!!
Hopefully this isn't something that continues!

U.S. Cellular FINALLY got a cool new smartphone!!!!
RIM had made a huge advancement with the 9850 and 9900. They have nice cameras, huge displays, and fast processors. Also I am VERY excited that they offered the 9850 to U.S. Cellular!!!! Another satisfied Blackberry user. Keep it up RIM!!!!

RIM making a comeback.
This is an amazing Blackberry! I was chosen to do some testing / benchmarking for it, and as hard as it is for most phones to do this, it impressed me. Right out of the box you can tell this phone is a MASSIVE improvement over previous models.
Also...USCC carries it as well...I'm pretty sure they launched it first though I may be wrong.
