You can use the phone as a modem, but that would use up your minutes, which is fine if you have unlimited nights and weekends and you use it during that time. However, if you use the phone as a modem, your connect speed is about 8k. I've never used the phone via GPRS, although I hear that it's faster. But unless you're planning on shelling out money for their unlimited data service, it's easy to rack up a huge bill because you will be charged per MB you downoad and upload. And yeah, I think you need to have some sort of t-zone subscription to use the GPRS function.
