Why the fuss now?

I remember watching T-mobile buy up UMA technology for years. And then when T-mobile introduced this feature nearly a decade ago, I thought it would revolutionize the entire cellphone industry and finally give T-mobile a competitive advantage. But T-mobile did very little with the technology and failed to market it very well. And today most people still don't know what it is.

And of course T-Mobile can't just let us CHOOSE which apps to install

Either you get bloated with a bunch of BS T-Mobile apps nobody wants, or you get nothing.

Navigation Fail

Look at the screenshot, the primary route will take 20 mins, but the alternate route is 7? Way to get us to work on time !!

wonder what they are putting into this...

I wonder what the specs are going to be on this? Hopefully they do something big this time. the nexus has always been a good phone but never that amazing.. I wish they do put something great together...

The important thing to note...

...is that it was listed as an 'LG Nexus 4'.

Gives some more momentum to the rumor of multiple OEMs and/or a NEW OEM over Samsung.

13 MP?

Are consumers suddenly trying to use their phones to create billboards along highways?

Pre-orders?

Does anyone really expect there to be a big enough demand for the need to pre-order these?

AT&T ≠ Rogers model?

Rogers just started preorders on their Optimus G phone today, and have been promoting it for a couple weeks already, touting an *exclusive* 2600mhz LTE model.

Does this mean an entirely different model, or are the Phonescoop specs here incorrect?

I've been searching far and wide to confirm what LTE bands the various Optimus G models will support- it looks like users will be SOL for roaming outside their own countries on LTE, since none of them appear to support more than the one or two bands used by the local carrier.. 😢
