I am currently using a Galaxy S4 and I am thinking about switching to a Note 3. Does anyone have any thoughts?
...
I wouldn't recommend it, at least not yet.
Yes, the Note 3 has a larger screen and improved this and that, but overall, even do it's different from the S4 in some ways, on others, well, it isn't that much. At least not worth switching/paying for.
I recommed you'd better save those bucks and wait a lil bit more. With the new technological advances, I doubt it'll be long before we see an updated version, or newer, model that will sum up with all of these features and better displays and so.
Just my opinion.

Thank you for your thoughts. I like the larger screen.

Me too, I do like it alot. But knowing the industry, soon they'll be an update or newer model.
The display on the S4 is gorgeous as well. What I consider the biggest improvement from the S4 to the Note3 is that juicy processor. As I play alot of games on my S4 (which are ran marvelously), but for some, specially the NDS or PS emulators on some rare cases slow down. I think they'll run just smoothly with a SnapDragon 800.
Other than in games, I haven't really seen my S4 glitch or slow down, so that processor's not too much of a need for me.
I sure can wait for the next gen of smartphones/phablets to arrive! 😎

If you wait for the next new model to be released you will always be waiting.
...
If you want it don't wait because you'll always be waiting, there's always something better coming, besides you might not be around for it . So get what you want now and enjoy it...time waits for know one.

I still have my Galaxy S II. I waited and waited for the Note 2, and then didn't get it because the screen was 720p. But now that the Note 3 has a larger 1080p screen and every feature you could imagine, the waiting is over.

Upgrades are fine anytime YOU feel the technological improvements have real value. Improvements will always be right around the corner; it only matters what value you put on those updates. Every other generation jump is usually worth it for most folks.

Ya, and this will be a huge jump for me.

While I would not switch from the S4 to the Note 3, unless you need the updated capability (screen size, hardware, S Pen, etc), I would like to add a thought to the "wait and see" approach.
The idea that if you wait something better will come along is flawed when it comes to Samsung.
With the Apple iPhone or other iMobile devices, Apple rolls out small-step updates and upgrades: iPhone 3, 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S, 5, 5S, 5C or iPad 1, 2, 3, Mini, 4 (soon). All of these have minor upgrades or updates such as retina display or a slightly better camera or slightly better processor chip. However, with Samsung there are no small steps.
Even regarding the step from the S3 to S4 or the Note II to Note 3, there are huge differences in terms of hardwa...

I agree with you about the Apple upgrades. As you are walking out the front door with what you think is the latest and greatest, someone will soon be coming in the back door with something newer and better. Is Apple using planed obsolescence every time a new i phone, pod or pad product is introduced. I know that there are people that always want the newest and greatest. I can be like that at times.
