LG VX-7000

Hi! Thank you for the information. I am from South Carolina. Planning a trip to NY the second week in December. I love it there. I am searching for employment in NY as well as other places. But I would prefer NY. I have a finance degree. Anyway, It's been hard finding soft wear packages for the 7000. I have not purchased cables yet. With the cables, can you download your pictures off of the phone and avoid paying the .25 per picture?

Does this cable definitely work with the black version of the vx7000? I've read that LG updated the software and changed the connect port on the bottom of the phone when they went from black to blue fronts. 😕

Please help. I just purchased a couple of these phones and my wife and I want to upload pictures of our newborn and make ringtones without spending all of his college fund with Verizon. 🙂

mine is not the black VX7000 but my friend got a black one. According to her, she got a piece of handset manager too, it comes with charging function? I guess they have a new cable for the new 7000 now because mine does not charge the phone. But still, this kit is really nice though, quality is good, software is exscellent, and price is only $29.

How can you tell if it is the new version, and if it charges the phone. I thought the MA-8022 are all same. I have the black 7000 and the Ma-8022

I have seen descriptions that say "does not charge phone" and some that say it "does".

The Mobile Action web site lists "8. Handset Manager - USB Data Suite also functions as another handy charger to ease your traveling."

Then click "Products" & select "Handset Manager" from the drop down list & click "USB Data Suite" on left sided of screen to navigate to their detailed product description. Not sure if this is a function of their version 8 software or the cable.

Have you tried charging your phone with yours? What version is your software? If not version 8 & charging doesn't work, wondering if you can get that feature by downloading their latest software?

As to knowing if it is charging your phone, I assume you see the same indication on your screen as with the regular charger. When I charge my Motorola V60 with a USB cord I see the same indicator as with my regular charger, so assume that would be the case here too.

I've confirmed from my pal, he bought a piece of MA8032p handset manager for his black VX7000, the cable charges the phone, and it fits in the black VX7000.

Thanks for your confirmation, but the model number MA8032p doesn't seem to appear at either the manufacturer's web site or the Malcom Wireless web site you mentioned earlier. I just ordered the MA-8022 NEW for VX7000 from:

Item #9 on above link states that it charges the phone. From reading various info here and there, I think the latest version of MA-8022 supposedly does charge the VX7000 while the older version reportedly does not. Very confusing! Malcom Wireless even shows 2 hits when searching for

MA-8022 NEW

with different descriptions but the link above mentions the charging function. I suspect this is a housekeeping issue at Malco...

Hello Lynn, I am sure it was MA8032p. Last time I called them, they told me they did not have time to update the web site due to it's a brand new part number and also the reason of busy shopping season, they also told me that the ma8022 only worked on the first edition of vx7000, but the new ma8032p would work on both old and new edition of vx7000, so i suugest you to give them a call and request for ma8032p. also, the ma8032p comes with charging function that allow you to charge the phone from personal computer.

Thanks for your reply. Can you give me the phone number and who you spoke to if possible? Was this Mobile Action, Malcom Wireless or where did you call? 😕 Sounds like I may need to follow up after the MA8022 I ordered arrives next week.

Well I definitely got the old version from Just Mobile. It was a few bucks less but now I know why. It does work with the black VX7000 too but you have to download updates from the website.

Can you please shortly desribe how you install handset manager with correct drivers for VX7000 phone. Are you finally able to use this software and cable? Did you have to download any drivers from mobileaction.com? Any help will be appriciated. Thanks in advance. 🙂 Maggie

Here's the final scoop on the MA-8032P directly from Mobile Action. MA says that they misinformed retailers that MA-8032P was compatible with VX7000. While the cable may fit the VX7000, the drivers and HM that comes with the MA-8032P is not compatible. Which explains why it didn't work for me. They are introducing another cable MA-8052P for the VX-7000 along with new drivers and HM. The cable and drivers will be available next week and is suppose to work with ver 7.0 of HM. A new version of HM ver 9.0 is expected in the March time frame. Hope this clears things up a bit.
