Firmware Update / Roam Update strangeness

The only thing about my VX7000 that bugs me is that, when it is in vibrate mode, there is no indication on the external LCD.
Yesterday, I had the firmware upgraded to the latest, “T70VZV10”. The upgrade had an interesting side effect. The Verizon Wireless banners on the internal and external LCDs are gone. Also, now when the phone is in vibrate mode, the text “vibrate mode” appears on the external LCD. EXCELLENT!!!!
This morning, I dialed *228 to refresh the roaming list. After the process completed, the Verizon Wireless banners are back, and my external LCD vibrate mode indicator is gone again.

How did you upgrade your SW version to V10? I ran through the *228 and still only have V08? THX

You have to take your phone to a VZW store for a firmware update, these cannot be done over the air.

I also updated my firmware today, but there is no indication of vibrate mode on the external lcd and both banners are still there.
