question about broken phone
i am looking to but the 7000 off of ebay. the phone is broken the top part is disconnected form the bottom. i was wondering if i bought that phone from ebay and try to activate it with verizon and go in the store and said that my phone broke would they give me a brand new one.

Try taking in a Cingular phone, that'd work just about as well. Why would they exchange a broken-in-half phone? I mean, if you want to give the people at the store a good laugh, go for it.

your best bet it to call customer service and talk to a supervisor and ask it you could get what is called a fru and still pay the frufee for the exchange its $50 you get a phone same model and its going to cost you $50 just remember to be nice to the person just explain what happened and most of the time they will help you out with that.

Until they check the esn history and tell the cust that the 1 year warranty does not transfer to the person it was sold to.

Let me help you all out with some helpful information when it comes to broken phones, especially ones with broken flips. They only way you can do that so called "fru fee" would be if the ribbon is still connected. The manufactor will be able to repair something like that but they can't do anything if the phone is completely in 2 parts. Also, it isn't helpful to call customer service because the technicians at the store have the ulimate call and take if from me they really don't like when customer service has notes in the account that they are "suppose to follow" because they have to make the call. i finally bought the phone. The phone is in perfect condition the only problem is the inner and outer lcd is display is mess up can i still do that fru fee for the phone...

Possibly, follow my above suggestion and take the phone to the techs, be nice and see what will follow.
